Broadneck, Severna Park return to Maryland boys' lacrosse finals
A Broadneck team that relied heavily on underclassmen this spring saw some of its more experienced players step up early in Saturday's Maryland Class 4A boys' lacrosse semifinal against North County.
Junior long stick midfielder Wyatt Shaw, a Harvard commit who scored six goals all season, and senior attacker Blake Levicki, a Christopher Newport signee, both scored first-quarter hat tricks to quickly give No. 8 Broadneck an insurmountable lead. The Bruins outscored North County 11-0 in the opening 12 minutes and topped the Knights, 20-3, at Glen Burnie to clinch their fourth consecutive state final appearance.
