Amazon slashes price of video doorbell that shoppers say is 'better than Ring'
The Blink Video Doorbell and Sync Module 2 is now available for £29.99 down from £59.99
Amazon has cut the price of a video doorbell that homeowners are praising as a 'cheaper alternative to a Ring', with some even claiming its video quality outshines that of the top model. The Blink Video Doorbell and Sync Module 2 is on offer for £29.99 from £59.99 for a limited time, compared to the Ring Video Doorbell's £59.99 price tag.
The Blink allows users to answer their door from anywhere, offering access to 1080p HD day and infrared night video and two-way audio through their mobile phone. This useful gadget can be connected to existing doorbell wiring to ring your current in-home bell or synced with a separate Blink Mini camera.
Installation is quick and easy; two AA lithium batteries are included and promise up to two years of battery life, while the internal battery protects the device against weather conditions. It connects to Wi-Fi using an app and is compatible with Alexa for live view and two-way audio access, motion and chime alerts, and the ability to arm or disarm the bell.
Additional features can be accessed with a Blink Subscription Plan. Each Blink Video Doorbell comes with a Sync Module 2 and mounting kit, including corner mount, screws, and fixings, reports Wales Online.
Alternatively, Argos has reduced the price of this TP-Link Tapo D210 2K Video Doorbell from £49.99 to £44.99, while Currys is selling the third-generation Ring Battery Video Doorbell at £59.99, originally £99.99.
The Blink Video Doorbell, with over 23,000 Amazon reviews and an impressive four-star average rating, has established a solid presence in the market. Many users have expressed their satisfaction with Blink as an affordable alternative to Ring's doorbell.
A customer shared: "I bought this to replace the Ring doorbell. It was easy to install and set up, and it works as described. It is not as solidly built as the Ring, but so far, battery life is on par. It also has slightly better video quality, with less of the fisheye lens effect."
Another content user remarked: "Better than Ring! I've been using the Blink Video Doorbell with Sync Module 2 for a few months, which has completely exceeded my expectations for a budget-friendly smart doorbell. The ease of installation, reliable performance, and useful features make this a fantastic choice for anyone looking to add a layer of security to their home without breaking the bank."
Yet, not all reviews are favourable, as some shoppers prefer the Ring alternative. A buyer remarked: "After much reviewing, I finally decided to try a video doorbell. I went for this one because it was cheaper, and the subscription cost was much less.
"At first, I thought it was good. It had an OK video quality and linked to Alexa very well. I quickly realised it used batteries a lot quicker than it claims ... I decided it was not for me and bought a Ring one instead. The Ring so far is much better although more expensive."
But a happy Blink customer was thrilled with their purchase, stating: "Excellent system. I bought this together with the sync module and two mini cameras. I am impressed with the quality and reliability of the system. It's quick and simple to set up, and the night vision quality is excellent.
"The app makes it easy to turn the motion sensors on/off and set up active and privacy zones. You have to subscribe to a plan if you want all the features, but this is no different to Ring, etc."
