SIBU (June 24): The Sibu Divisional Health Office will conduct Active Case Detection (ACD) for malaria in the Townvilla B area of Sibu Jaya on June 25-26.
A Health Office statement said this is necessary to detect the presence of malaria parasites following a case of malaria fever in the area on June 13.
The ACD will be carried out from 5pm to 8pm on both days.
'This ACD involves blood sample collection through the Blood Film for Malaria Parasite method and is a mandatory activity that will continue until completion,' explained the statement.
During the implementation period, residents in the affected area are requested to fully cooperate with the health team by allowing members to enter as well as providing identification documents such as identity cards, birth certificates, or passports.
They must also allow their blood samples to be taken and priority will be given to individuals experiencing fever or chills.
