How dads say 'I love you' without saying it

Six in ten Brits insist that their mum says 'I love you' more often and more freely than their dad. But actions speak louder, according to the poll, with 61 per cent insisting they know how much dad cares, by the small things he does to help out. Among the list of dad's love language gestures include, giving advice on practical things, such as which car to buy, looking after the grandchildren and helping put up shelves or flat pack furniture. Bringing you a cup of tea, taking your car to get fixed, mowing your lawn and standing with you at the BBQ are other key ways many dads continue to show love to their adult children. While 16 per cent say their father STILL picks them up from the pub if they've had too many, and 17 per cent say he will sit and watch films and cartoons with the grandkids. The research, from Bloom & Wild polled the nation and discovered that six in ten Brits say that while mum says 'I love you' more often, their dad has a unique love language that is rooted in deeds, rather than words. One in three say helping out with a much-needed emergency cash injection shows that dads' care, while 12 per cent know that papa is always up for coming along for the ride, whenever you need to run an errand (12 per cent). Overall, 85 percent of both men and women said their dad is the first port of call when they need something. And Brits top memories of dad when they were young include buying you sweets, giving lifts to friends' houses, giving piggy backs up hills and letting you dress him up as a princess. To mark Father's Day and to celebrate all the quiet ways that Dad's show their care, Bloom & Wild have created an AI prompt that generates a short poem, perfect for sharing with him. Find out how, here: TOP WAYS DADS SAY 'I LOVE YOU', WITHOUT SAYING 'I LOVE YOU' ACCORDING TO BRITS: 1. Fixing things around the house – 42% 2. Sticking up for you – 37% 3. These Are The Most Thoughtful Father's Day Gifts We've Seen This Year

Maybe your dad is easy to buy for. Maybe you always know what to get him, and he's really grateful to receive your gift. In my experience, this is not the case. I have struggled with birthdays, Christmases and most definitely Father's Day. After all, the latter is the day when you're supposed to show your care and (extreme) gratitude for the endless lifts he gave you and your friends for years on end (just me?). Just where does one find presents that feel personal and special but also remain affordable? I'll tell you: it's Bloom & Wild. You may be thinking that Bloom & Wild is the name you associate with beautiful flowers, both in letterbox and hand-tied form. While you're right, what you need to know is that the brand has expanded its gift offerings of late and now offers the most incredible array of unique ideas for every occasion. For Father's Day, this means utterly delicious hampers filled with all his favourite things, sweet treats that will fit through the letterbox and even a 'pub in a box', which involves a selection of great beers and yummy snacks. In short, there's a present fit for every dad, regardless of taste, from as little as £20. That's not all, though. Bloom & Wild is also offering a super-cute personalised present for your dad that won't cost you anything at all, to celebrate those everyday acts of care that makes every dad so special. The brand has developed a prompt for ChatGPT which asks for a photo of your dad and a little bit of text explaining what you're grateful for (from cups of tea to invaluable DIY skills), which it will then use to generate a personalised stamp which you can send. Instructions on exactly how to do this are below, and Bloom & Wild is even running a competition to let one lucky winner receive a glorious bouquet for themselves, as well as a bundle of Father's Day goodies. All you need to do is follow the brand on Instagram, then like its post going live on Tuesday 11th June. Then, simply create your stamp and share it, tagging @bloomandwild as you do so. The winner will be announced on Friday, 13th June. 1. Go go ChatGPT (or your AI image-creation tool of choice). Avoid Gemini, as it's not great at putting image on text! 2. Copy and paste the following prompt, filling in the blanks. 3. For a super personalised result, upload a photo of your father figure My [father figure] shows he cares by [insert act of care]. Turn this into a snappy headline suitable for a social media post, paired with a caring, thoughtful two-line rhyming poem that has a warm, witty tone. Use British English, and ensure the spelling is 100% accurate and the copy is grammatically correct. Then generate and place this into a grainy, vintage postage stamp-style image inspired by a 1920s poster ad, using a flat vector illustration style. Preserve the original character likeness and pose. Use vintage colours including the color palette: #447964 (green) #F9ECD7 (cream) #FDF888 (yellow). Design features must include: Perforated border edges, Bold visual highlights, Light noise texture throughout, Stamp must be rotated exactly 18 degrees and scaled to 70%, always centered in frame, Aspect ratio: 9:16, Style: v6 raw —ar 9:16. Overlay 1–2 distressed ink stamp marks. In the bottom right corner of the stamp, add the brand name: 'SENT WITH LOVE BY BLOOM & WILD' — in the same size font as surrounding text. Final image should evoke the nostalgic charm and emotional tone of a 1920s advertisement. Never again will I worry about what to buy for the man who has, until now, been impossible to buy for. And I have Bloom & Wild to thank. 1.
