With its working title Blue Oasis, the production has already generated excitement amongst locals after notification letters were delivered earlier this week. Some scenes being shot will reportedly 'involve vehicles on the road', with crews anticipating that Bothwell Street will be the focal point. The thoroughfare is set to be closed to vehicles between Pitt Street and Hope Street for approximately one week to facilitate filming. It is understood that the Glasgow-based shoot for the upcoming Marvel blockbuster will commence in mid-August. Advertisement Spider-Man 4, officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will see Tom Holland reprise his role as Spider-Man. With its release date scheduled for July 2026, the eagerly awaited sequel is to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. It is believed that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink has been cast to star alongside Holland. Tom Holland previously revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin filming in the summer of 2025. This news comes a week after the announcement that another Hollywood film, starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, is also set to be filmed in the city. The motion picture will also feature Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, Sex Education actress Emma Mackey, and Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell. Back in November, Glasgow was transformed into a dystopian New York as filming began for The Running Man, a reboot of the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger film.
