Valley native scores 3 TDs in Stoops-led Renegades win
ARLINGTON, Texas (WKBN) – Valley native De'Veon Smith scored three touchdowns for the Bob Stoops-led Arlington Renegades during a 33-9 win over the San Antonio Brahmas in United Football League action on Saturday.
Smith, a graduate of Howland High School, carried the ball three times for 3 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns as a goal-line threat for the Renegades.
For Stoops, the Youngstown native is in his fourth season as head coach of the Renegades — two in the XFL and now in his second season of the newly formed UFL.
As a team, the Renegades rushed for 183 total yards and four touchdowns, led by Kalen Ballage with 110 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts.
With the win, Arlington improves to 1-0 on the season and will take on the Houston Roughnecks on April 6.
