The Gulf state has locked down its airspace amid reports that Iran launched missiles, following the United States' bombings of nuclear sites in the country yesterday.
A Qatar Airways Boeing 789-9 Dreamliner departed Edinburgh at 3.23pm.
But the passenger liner has been forced to touch down at Istanbul Airport.
It is unclear how many people are onboard the aircraft.
Two more Qatar Airways flights are scheduled to depart the capital for Doha tomorrow.
But it's currently unclear if these departures will go ahead amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Qatar Airways has been contacted for comment.
