Bolivar man dies after being struck by multiple vehicles on highway
BOLIVAR, Mo. — A 40-year-old man from Bolivar died in a crash between a truck and a pedestrian late Sunday night, according to Bolivar Police.
BPD says in a press release that the accident occurred on State Highway 13 just north of 490th Road at approximately 11:15 p.m.
Witnesses told police that a man was on the highway when he was hit by a southbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. When the driver of the Ford stopped to try and help the pedestrian, he saw other vehicles hit the victim.

At 11:20 p.m., officers arrived at the scene of the crash and confirmed that the man had died. BPD is still trying to notify the next of kin.
The crash caused the southbound lanes of Highway 13 to be closed until 3 a.m. Monday.
The Bolivar City Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff's Office, Citizens Memorial Hospital Pre-Hospital Services, and Polk County Central Dispatch helped work the crash.
