Man arrested after security guard bitten in 'attempt to evade capture'
A man has been arrested after a security guard was bitten.
The incident took place in the Highfield area of Farnworth, yesterday afternoon, May 10.
Officers were called to reports of an alleged shoplifter who had been detained, but upon arrival they saw him reportedly struggling with security staff, having reportedly "bitten one in an attempt to evade capture".
He has since been arrested on suspicion of "multiple" shoplifting offences, racially aggravated public order, assault and "numerous" breaches of a criminal behaviour order.

A spokesperson for Bolton Police said: "Earlier this afternoon, officers from the Farnworth Neighbourhood Team responded to reports of a shoplifter detained in Highfield.
"Upon arrival, the male was struggling with security staff, having bitten one in an attempt to evade capture. It later transpired that he is wanted in Bolton, Salford and Bury for numerous offences.
"The male has been arrested on suspicion of multiple shoplifting offences, racially aggravated public order, assault, and numerous breaches of a criminal behaviour order. He is also wanted on recall to prison.
"He remains in custody for questioning."
