Operation Shield: Ludhiana to conduct 15-minute blackout security drill tonight

Ludhiana's district administration is set to conduct a blackout mock drill tonight, from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM, as part of Operation Shield to bolster emergency preparedness LUDHIANA: As part of Operation Shield, an initiative to enhance emergency preparedness, the district administration of Ludhiana will conduct a complete blackout mock drill tonight from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM. As per an official statement by District Administratiion "The blackout mock drill will cover the following areas: Bhanohar, Hasanpur, Baddowal, Rurka, Jamgpur, Khadoor, Haveli, Adda City Dakha, Ajitsar, Issewal, Gahour, Detwal, Kailpur, Baraich, Madiani, MorKarima, Boothgarh, and the Baddowal cantonment area feeder from 66kV Rajguru Nagar". "Besides, 66kV feeder Dholewal Chowk to Vishwakarma Chowk, 11kv Guru Naanak Feeder, 11kv Vishwakarma feeder, 11kv Ramgarhiya Feeder, 11kv Gobindpura Feeder, Gurdwara Pheruman, Manju Cinema road, Ahaluwalia Gali, Shah Talai Temple, Bombay Metals, Ghati Shah Mills, Moongphali Mandi, Santpura Mandi, Bhagwan Nagar, Guru Arjun Nagar Dev, Rama Charitable, Dada Motors, Achar Wali Gali, Guru Gobind Singh Tower, Gandhi Nagar, Shamsham Ghar road, MES complex, Prabhat Nagar, Telephone Exchange and others". The statement suggested that the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) will temporarily cut the power supply to the designated areas just before 8:00 PM and restore it after the 15-minute drill concludes at 8:15 PM. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain emphasized the importance of this exercise in strengthening the district's preparedness for emergencies. He also requested Ludhiana residents to voluntarily participate by switching off all lights during the drill from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM tonight.
