Law firm severs relationship with the Town of Irondequoit
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A law firm has officially severed ties with the Town of Irondequoit, the town announced Thursday morning.
The Town of Irondequoit's Facebook page posted a screenshot of what appears to be an email message announcing Brown Hutchinson will be severing its relationship as town attorney. This stems from the law firm being allegedly excluded from an investigation and proceedings, which led to a special meeting that was scheduled for January 30.
Local leaders 'troubled' by lack of transparency in Irondequoit investigation
Furthermore, the town claims another law firm, Bond Schoeneck & King, raised allegations that the town board and special counsel's 'certain actions' may have been unlawful and in violation of due process.
It has not been confirmed if these were connected to the sexual harassment allegations made against Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andrae Evans. In a recent town board workshop, Evans called the accusations unfair and politically motivated while the town board said his alleged behavior was 'unacceptable.'
The town made this recent announcement to remain transparent following 'recent developments in the Town of Irondequoit.'
