‘Page not found': List of Va.'s so-called sanctuary cities disappear from DHS website
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement Thursday saying the cities of Virginia Beach, Hampton and Newport News, along with 30 other localities in the Commonwealth were obstructing federal immigration laws, but Sunday, the list of so-called sanctuary jurisdictions in Virginia disappeared from the DHS website. 'It's amazing to me to think that we will label areas and cities as though there's some problem,' Hayes said. The resort city had a public relations problem in April 2007, when Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly called Virginia Beach a sanctuary city after a drunk illegal immigrant plowed into the rear of a car and killed two teen girls. O'Reilly called for the resignations of the mayor and police chief while co-host Geraldo Rivera called out O'Reilly for allegedly using a tragedy to promote an agenda.
