Trumbull Co. students get help preparing for prom
WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Prom and graduation season is rapidly approaching for high school-aged students, and Trumbull County boys had an opportunity to snag a free suit, ties and shoes for the big day on Saturday.
The 'It Suits You' event is a collaboration of Family and Children First Council and Cadence Care Network. Dozens of dress clothes, ties and belts were available for students to pick from at the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority in Warren.
Bonnie Wilson says the clothes came from community donations and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. While there are plenty of dress giveaways, Wilson says there are many options for young men.
'Dress clothing for young men can be very expensive when you factor in the suit, the shirt, the belt, the shoes, you know all the accessories. So, we decided that we wanted to collaborate and do something and make it affordable,'
The first It Suits You event was last September ahead of homecoming season. Wilson says September this year will be the next event to get a free suit.
