Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 teases Defenders MCU debut

Daredevil: Born Again that debuted early this year, follows Matt Murdock during one of the darkest chapters of his life. In the new Disney series, Matt finds himself fighting to survive as his world unravels. Armed with intimate knowledge of Matt's life, the Kingpin launches a brutal campaign to dismantle it—arranging his disbarment, freezing his assets, and destroying his personal reputation. Season 2 now teases the long-awaited debut of the full Defenders lineup in the Marvel Cinematic Universe . With Jessica Jones , Luke Cage, and Danny Rand officially part of MCU canon, it's only a matter of time before the team reunites on screen. Luke Cage and Iron Fist stars Mike Colter and Finn Jones teased as much, sharing Instagram stories that confirmed they're in New York at the same time (Colter even commented "My dude" on Jones' post). An observant fan found compelling evidence that further stoked the fire of this speculation. This gave fans the impression that they were filming sequences for Born Again, although they haven't responded to the rumours yet. A street-level superhero crossover was hinted at by show-runner Dario Scardapane . This was established in Season 1 when Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) had to gather an army of insurgents because the odds were stacked against him. Danny acknowledged that this would have been the perfect time to bring in the defenders, but they wanted to "create a completely organic" build-up to that reunion. "When you're working in what I would call the Hell's Kitchen corner of the MCU, those iconic characters are always in your mind," he told Entertainment Weekly. "...You want to bring in people and relationships and past figures in Matt's life because they help the story,' he further elaborated. Born Again is the perfect opportunity for the Defenders' MCU debut. Depending on audience reception, the show could also be a launch pad for Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist spinoffs. Born Again could resolve their storylines.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 Set Photos Reveal New Details About Daredevil's Suit — GeekTyrant

Things are heating up on the streets of New York, at least on the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. New set photos from the upcoming second season have surfaced, and they're teasing some changes to the costumes for both Daredevil and his longtime nemesis Bullseye. Matt Murdock's gear is looking rougher and a lot more lived-in. It looks like the red suit we're familiar with has been painted black, a makeshift disguise that's starting to wear off. In these new images, large red patches are bleeding through the black, revealing a gritty, battle-worn version of Daredevil's classic look. The iconic "DD" chest logo is still intact, though. Faded, but still holding strong. Wilson Bethel's Bullseye is also back in action and he's rocking a new upgrade. It's another look at his mask, which now features a proper bullseye symbol, finally leaning all the way into the character's comic book persona. One shot also features graffiti that reads 'Resist, Rebel,' with the Rs cleverly stylized to mimic Daredevil's double D symbol. Charlie Cox recently sat down with Collider to tease what's coming in Season 2, saying: "Matt has the ability, and this is one of his strengths in the past, to see things quite clearly — often incorrectly, but he sees things clearly. 'He makes a decision, and then he follows through with that decision. He communicates with people that way. He says, 'No, this is what we have to do. We're going to do that. That's what we do next. That's the next step.' He's very good at committing to those decisions." But that decisiveness may be unraveling: "Because of some things that happen at the end of Season 1, and because of where we find ourselves at the beginning of Season 2, and in my conversations with Dario [Scardapane], our amazing writer and showrunner, I've found that there's an opportunity for him to no longer trust those instincts and no longer be clear-minded about what the next right step is, and so he questions a lot. 'He kind of backtracks a bit. He's clearly unsure and finding that he has to take gambles and hope that he's making the right choice." In Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again , Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course. The series also stars Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, with Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal. Dario Scardapane is showrunner.
