Deputies: 1 dead after head-on crash near Lowell
BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A person died following a head-on crash near Lowell Saturday, deputies said.
Just after 6 p.m., a vehicle was headed east on Centerline Road in Boston Township when it crossed the midline and hit another vehicle head-on, according to the Ionia County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of one of the vehicles was a female from Lowell who was found unconscious. First responders tried to revive her but she was declared dead at the scene, deputies said.
The people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Deputies suspect speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.
Michigan State Police, Saranac Fire and Life EMS and Aeromed helped deputies.
