Former Washington Parish teacher charged with sexual abuse
WASHINGTON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A former Washington Parish teacher was arrested on Friday following an investigation into reported child sexual abuse.
According to District Attorney Collin Sims and the Franklinton Police Department, 29-year-old Darbie Colette Smith was arrested after four months of investigation revealed that she had allegedly committed multiple child sex crimes.
Suspect wanted in reported Hammond area rape, kidnapping
Smith faces the following charges:
80 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
One count of computer aided solicitation.
One count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
