‘The Boys' Mocks ‘The Last of Us,' ‘House of The Dragon' and ‘The Bear' in ‘Superclass' FYC Clip (EXCLUSIVE)
Prime Video's 'The Boys' has enlisted 'acclaimed' director Adam Bourke (played by P.J. Byrne) to premiere a new MasterClass-esque 'Superclass' as part of the show's Season 4 Emmy FYC campaign. The new clip, featuring seedy film director-turned Godolkin University (as seen in 'Gen V') acting professor Bourke , is described as a 'Superhero's Guide to Awards Season Acting' aimed at helping supes take home statutes on Emmy night. Scroll down to watch. Bourke begins his Superclass by stressing that 'picking the role is more important than playing the role,' and goes on to guide supes through which genres to look for and which to avoid. The 'Dawns of the Seven' director advises supes to look for period pieces because they're full of 'penetration in petticoats,' followed by pointers on how to act convincingly during a sex scene. Why the TV Community Is 'Curious, but Not Yet Committed' Emmys Just Aren't Quite Sure What to Do With Eligibility for All of This Season's Guest Stars and Cameos Bridget Everett on How 'Somebody Somewhere' Was the Best Experience of Her Life: 'It's Like, Now What Am I Gonna Do?' He then moves on to 'premium dramas,' remarking that dragons are 'cheesy as hell,' but 'banging your sister on a dragon' is a 'jackpot.' For supes looking to star in prestige culinary TV shows, Bourke advises that 'if you're shucking pea shoots and placing rose petals with tweezers, get that speech ready, because we want to hear your well-formed thoughts on immigration.' Bourke then tackles zombie shows: 'If they offer you [one], that's a hard pass unless there's a random heartfelt gay episode halfway through the series, because apparently one eighth gay is gay-okay. It's gay-okay with me and the Academy.' He ends his Superclass with the most important rule of FYC season: never do a superhero show. 'You might think surprising characters with nuanced performances or insightful commentary makes a difference, but it doesn't fucking matter.' Per Prime Video, 'Bourke is 'The Boys'' satirical answer to Hollywood's most notorious directors — once a big deal at Vought, now stuck teaching acting after misconduct allegations derailed his career. He's both a punchline and a pointed commentary on unchecked egos and abuses of power.' Here's the 'SuperClass: 'Acting for Awards Season' with Adam Bourke' video: Meanwhile, the Prime Video/Sony Pictures TV series will next get a two-day fan activation, organized by Amazon MGM Studios, that brings 'Vought on Ice' to the Westfield Century City Mall on June 7th and 8th. Fans of the series are familiar, of course, with the infamous holiday-themed ice show. Now they can watch the three-minute performance featuring skaters lip-syncing to 'Put The Christ Back in Christmas,' turning Vought's over-the-top holiday propaganda into real life. The rink will also be open for 40-minute free skate sessions each hour, as well as showcase actual costumes from Season 4. Reserve your spot here. 'The Boys' just dropped an unhinged video poking fun at 'The Bear,' 'The Last of Us,' 'House of the Dragon' and itself
"The Boys" season 5 is still filming and is tentatively projected for a 2026 release window. But in the meantime, "The Boys" season 4 is campaigning for Emmy nominations, and it's doing it in a way that is as delightfully demented as the twisted superhero show itself. Titled "Acting for Awards Season," this for your consideration (FYC) video is a parody of "Masterclass" that stars "award-winning" director Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne), who directed the Vought Studios films "Dawn of the Seven" and 'Training A-Train.' In the video, the (entirely fictional) director lays out his guide to dominating awards season and makes fun of several very real shows along the way. None of these shows are explicitly named, but you can pretty easily spot most of them. First up? "Mare of Easttown," and its "Philadelphia accents," which get attacked at the 0:36 mark. Then it's on to skewering "Bridgerton" and its prolific amount of promiscuous people, while possibly also going after "Shogun" and its use of seppuku. Of course, "Game of Thrones" wasn't going to escape Bourke's razor wit. "Dragons. Cheesy as hell," the director declared, clearly taking aim at "House of the Dragon." "But banging your sister on a dragon? Jackpot!" Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. From there, we go into a brief musing on whether or not the stars of "The Bear" are qualified to speak on political issues like immigration before giving praise to "The Last of Us" season 1 for being "one-eighth gay." This is, of course, a reference to the season 1 episode "Long Long Time," which is possibly the best episode of any show ever. If you've never seen it, or you don't believe me, go watch it on Max right now, then come back and tell me I'm wrong. You won't be able to because, like Bourke in this video, you'll be too busy choking back sobs, having just watched an absolute masterpiece. Finally, "The Boys" took aim at itself, declaring you should "never do a superhero TV show." Granted, it then couldn't resist a parting shot at "Friday Night Lights," but it was still nice to see a moment of self-deprecating humor amongst the deluge of potshots at other acclaimed shows. So, if you haven't become offended to the point of closing out of this article already, or if, like me, you found this unhinged parody to be hysterical, make sure to follow all our latest "The Boys" season 5 coverage to stay up to date with the show's final season. If you haven't already seen the first four seasons, make sure to go check them out on Prime Video right now to make sure you're caught up before season 5 debuts next year. Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022, and has been covering the latest in streaming shows and movies since 2023. He's not one to shy away from a hot take, including that "John Wick" is one of the four greatest films ever made. Here's what he's been watching lately:

Three former Rockpool chefs to lead new Manly wharf restaurant
When the Brisbane-based Artemus Group splashed out $110 million last year to buy Manly Wharf, it was just the start of a spending spree focused on acquiring and opening new venues at the wharf. Now Artemus is snapping up the city's hospitality talent, with up-and-coming chef Luke Bourke set to steer a new seafood restaurant opening at the wharf. Bourke, a Rockpool alumnus who won The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide young chef of the year for 2025, has been appointed head chef at Felons Seafood, which opens on Friday, June 20. It's a reunion of sorts for former senior Rockpool chefs Corey Costelloe, now culinary consultant with Artemus, and Graeme Hunt, who has also joined as culinary operations manager at the Felons Manly pub next door. Felons Brewing Co opened its first venue, at Brisbane's Howard Smith Wharves, in 2018.

Western NSW residents shake through 5.2 magnitude earthquake
An earthquake has shaken parts of western NSW in the early hours of Saturday morning, but some are reporting the event could be felt hours away from the epicentre. Geoscience Australia confirmed a magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck just after 2.30am in a remote part of Orana region, about 160 kilometres southeast of Bourke. The initial quake was followed seven minutes later by a magnitude 4.2 aftershock and another magnitude 3.6 tremor was also felt around 5.30am. The shocks continued throughout the day with a magnitude 3.0 at 11.46am and magnitude 3.5 at 1.03pm. Geoscience Australia senior seismologist Phil Cummins said any aftershocks felt in the NSW region is following a normal pattern. 'As far as we can tell this is all part of a normal aftershock sequence and therefore expect the earthquakes to decrease in frequency and magnitude,' he said. The senior seismologist said a number of people in western NSW are feeling the effects of the shock. 'It was widely felt, getting over 260 reports, ranging as far as Orange and Dubbo,' he said While Australia sits in the middle of a tectonic plate, meaning it is less likely to get an earthquake, the continent can still experience earthquakes. Local residents took to the Geoscience Australia Facebook page to discuss the impact of the earthquake. One person living in Forbes said they 'felt my floor vibrate last night twice about 10 minutes apart, though there was something under my house.' A second person said 'my dogs woke me up whining and my daughter was awake and felt the bed shake in Coonamble after a house rattle beforehand.' While another reported saying they 'felt nothing in Narromine, slept straight through it.' A fourth person working in the mines also reported that they did not feel the shock. 'Working underground at Peak Gold Mines Cobar last night l didn't fill a thing or ground movements.' Any members of the public who feel the impact of an earthquake are encouraged to lodge a felt report at Geoscience Australia.
