Professor to talk about whether the poor are 'sacrificed' for the rich
A university professor will speak about whether the poor are "sacrificed" for the rich in Bournemouth.
Professor Jonathan Parker, a professor of society and social welfare at Bournemouth University, will give the talk on Monday, April 7.
His speech, titled "Sacrificing the Poor on Behalf of the Rich? An Examination of the Rites of Social Welfare," will explore the relationship between the "haves" and the "have-nots."

The talk will be held at the Bournemouth William Temple Association meeting at the Marsham Court Hotel, starting at 7.40pm.
An optional dinner will be held before the meeting at 6.30pm.
The Bournemouth William Temple Association has also announced that the next talk will be on Monday, May 12, 2025, by the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, Bishop of Winchester.
