‘His memory will be cherished': Bowie police mourn loss of department's first K-9
BOWIE, Md. () — The Bowie Police Department (BPD) is mourning the loss of its very first K-9 to ever join the force. K-9 Rooster served with the department for six years. 'He was a loyal companion to our officers and our civilian staff,' the department stated on social media. 'K-9 Rooster made significant contributions to many arrests and assisted in narcotics and search warrant cases.' Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Bowie
BOWIE, Md. () — A over the weekend for showing unusual behavior tested positive for rabies, Bowie police confirmed on Tuesday. The Bowie Police Department said that at around 3 p.m. on June 1, it received reports of a raccoon acting unusually along the 4600 block of Mitchellville Road in the Bowie Gateway Center area. Prince George's County Special Election: Where to cast your ballot The raccoon was picked up and euthanized. It was tested for rabies, which came back positive on June 3. Anyone who came into contact with that raccoon should contact the Prince George's County Health Department at (301) 583-3750 and request an urgent and immediate risk assessment. Three Bowie speed cameras to be moved
BOWIE, Md. (DC News Now) — Three speed cameras in Bowie will be moved to new locations in June, officials said. In a news release published May 14, the Bowie Police Department (BPD) said that speed cameras on Old Stage Road, Brunswick Lane and Dolphin Way will be moved starting June 2. These cameras will be moved to eastbound Northview Drive, eastbound Millstream Drive and northbound Mitchellville Road. Check your tickets! Bowie police in search of items stolen from marked police cruiser
