Parents issued urgent warning after school pupil is 'threatened with knife' in park

Parents have been issued with an urgent warning following reports of a school pupil being 'threated with a knife' in a park in Middleton. Police are investigating after a pupil was reportedly targeted in Bowlee Park at around 11am on Monday (May 19). The victim had an iPhone stolen during the incident. Sharing a letter to parents and carers, Bowlee Park Community School said the victim, from another nearby school, was threated by an unknown 'man with a knife'. Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE It read: "Information has been received that this morning, a man with a knife has tried to attack a pupil to steal her phone on Bowlee Fields. "Children walking home unaccompanied will be reminded of how to keep safe and go home straight after school." Police confirmed that an investigation is underway following the incident on Monday morning and that no arrests have yet been made. "We were called shortly after 11am on Monday 19 May. The theft on an iPhone has been reported to us," a GMP spokesperson said.
