Top 10 most valuable 2025 Bowman 1st autos: Jesus Made, Zyhir Hope, and more
HOOVER, AL - MAY 21: Georgia Bulldogs third baseman Charlie Condon (24) during the 2024 SEC Baseball Tournament game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers on May 21, 2024 at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. (Photo by Michael Wade/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) One of the biggest gripes about Bowman baseball is that it's not always easy to know who to chase, who to sell, and who to stash—especially right after the product releases. After all, these are prospects, some of whom haven't even spent a full year in the minors yet. Every seasoned baseball collector has their own Bowman bust story: a player they invested heavily in who never quite made it to the big leagues, or did and was quickly sent back down. Fortunately, there are seasoned experts like Mantel user Big Bob's Cards , who crunch the numbers. Bob released his one-week-out 2025 Bowman analysis , including the average selling price of each player's 1st Bowman Auto. Here are the top 10 best-selling 2025 Bowman prospects one week after launch. 10) Slade Caldwell – Arizona Diamondbacks – $70.46 Arizona's 2024 first-round pick is just 18 years old, but thanks to a stellar high school career and a solid first 100 at-bats in the minors, he's made it into the top 10. Advertisement Buy Slade Caldwell on eBay 9) Malcom Moore – Texas Rangers – $75.00 The Rangers' 2025 first-round pick is the top catching prospect within their organization, giving him a strong chance to reach the majors in the next few years. Buy Malcom Moore on eBay 8) Franklin Arias – Boston Red Sox – $75.33 Franklin can hit. He's tearing up High-A with a .331 batting average through more than 130 at-bats in 2025 alone. Buy Franklin Arias on eBay 7) Luis Pena – Milwaukee Brewers – $75.90 The Brewers' 18-year-old shortstop Luis Pena hit .394 in the DSL last year, with an impressively low strikeout rate of 8.2% (yes, that's very good). Advertisement Buy Luis Pena on eBay 6) Quinn Mathews – St. Louis Cardinals – $80.00 Quinn is the only pitcher on this list, but considering the Cardinals' #2 prospect is already in Triple-A, his MLB debut could be sooner rather than later. Buy Quinn Mathews on eBay 5) Zyhir Hope – Los Angeles Dodgers – $88.33 Zyhir Hope's first Bowman card was actually included in the 2024 Bowman Draft product but didn't feature his autograph and wasn't listed as a "1st Bowman." That hasn't stopped collectors from eagerly anticipating his first official auto in 2025 Bowman. Buy Zyhir Hope on eBay 4) Kevin McGonigle – Detroit Tigers – $116.86 An injury hasn't prevented the Tigers' #2 prospect from becoming one of just four players in 2025 Bowman whose base 1st auto is selling for over $100. Advertisement Buy Kevin McGonigle on eBay 3) JJ Wetherholt – St. Louis Cardinals – $137.50 The Cardinals' number-one prospect has quickly ascended to Double-A and is aiming for a roster spot. It wouldn't be surprising to see him make his MLB debut as early as this season. Buy JJ Wetherholt on eBay 2) Charlie Condon – Colorado Rockies – $170.00 Charlie Condon is still adjusting in the Rockies farm system, so it's somewhat surprising to see his market value this high. However, considering his dominant college career as arguably the best Division 1 player in 2024, the hype is understandable. Personally, I'm a sucker for the Rockies purple color-match 1st Bowman Chrome autos, so it's a real shame they're selling for around $1,000 each. (Buy on eBay) 1) Jesus Made – Milwaukee Brewers – $256.67 The hype surrounding Made is unique. Commanding prices exceeding $250 for base 1st Bowman autos doesn't often happen with 18-year-olds. His performances so far in the minors and the DSL have showcased as much potential as any Bowman prospect in recent years. Buy Jesus Made on eBay

From prospect to pro: How an MLB debut impact a player's card prices
The baseball card market has seen significant movement this week with several highly anticipated MLB debuts. As young prospects make their first appearances in the big leagues, collectors are quickly adjusting their portfolios to capitalize on these emerging stars. This week's standouts include players from the Athletics, Tigers, Yankees, Rockies, and Rays organizations, with noticeable market trends developing around their rookie and prospect cards…some are more profitable than others. Let's examine the latest developments for these fresh MLB talents and how their rookie cards are performing in the current market. Nick Kurtz – Athletics 30 Day 1st Bowman Auto increase | +100% Nick Kurtz has yet to make his MLB debut with the Athletics but it was announced that the no. 1 prospect in the A's system received his first big league call up on April 22, 2025, and collectors have taken notice. The fourth overall pick in last year's draft out of Wake Forest has skyrocketed through the minors. As a highly touted prospect, his 2024 Bowman Draft Chrome DP Auto (1st) card has been a standout in the market, with PSA 10 graded versions seeing a modest increase of 27.1% over the past 30 days. The latest sale reached $350.00 , while raw versions continue to trade around $150 up from ~$75 a month prior, a 100% increase. His rapid rise through the minor leagues and approaching debut with the Athletics have maintained steady collector interest, ensuring consistent demand for his rookie cards. ( shop Nick Kurtz cards on eBay) Jace Jung – Detroit Tigers 30 Day 1st Bowman Auto increase | +27% Jace Jung made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers on August 16, 2024, and his 2022 Bowman Prospects #BP53 has quickly become a sought-after card. Following his debut, Jung's rookie cards have seen a notable uptick in value, despite his lackluster 34 games in 2024 where he hit .241. As a highly touted prospect throughout his minor league career (No. 4 Detroit Prospect to finish 2024), Jung's transition to the major leagues has been closely watched by fans and collectors alike, making his rookie cards hot commodities in the current market. Over the past 30 days his 2022 Bowman Draft #CDA-JJ Chrome DP Auto (1st) has gone up in price over 27% with the last sale recorded on 4/20/25 at $89.99. After the 2022 draft, Jung's first round of Bowman autos were catching sale prices around $100 thanks to him being the 12th overall pick. With this latest call-up, Jung looks to prove he can compete at the Major League level for a full season. ( shop Jace Jung cards on eBay) Caleb Durbin – Milwaukee Brewers 30 Day 1st Bowman Auto increase | +73% Caleb Durbin was a 14th-round pick by the New York Yankees in the 2021 draft and didn't get his first Bowman auto until 2024—a true testament to perseverance. Even more impressive, Durbin was drafted out of a Division III college (Washington University in St. Louis). He was later traded from New York to Milwaukee in a deal that sent star closer Devin Williams to the Yankees. The utility infielder made his Major League debut with the Brewers on April 18, 2025, and has since posted a .250 batting average while slugging his first big league homer. Durbin will have the opportunity to earn more playing time in Milwaukee's infield this season, and collectors have responded accordingly. The Caleb Durbin 1st Bowman Chrome auto has jumped 73% over the past 30 days, with base versions previously selling for around $25. ( shop Caleb Durbin Cards on eBay) Zac Veen – Colorado Rockies 30 Day 1st Bowman Auto increase | 28% -> 0% Zac Veen made his highly anticipated MLB debut with the Colorado Rockies on April 8, 2025, sparking notable movement in the card market. The former first-round pick has been one of Colorado's most promising outfield prospects in recent years, but collectors have been cautious due to his inconsistency throughout his minor league career. His 2020 Bowman Draft Chrome DP Auto #CDA-ZV , considered his true rookie card with the sought-after "1st Bowman" designation, has only moved slightly since his call-up. PSA 10 graded examples have recently commanded prices up to $144.99 , but the steady appreciation has dipped 10.3% in recent sales. For those seeking his signature card, the 2020 Bowman Chrome Draft Auto, raw prices hit $45 after his call up, compared to $35 a month prior, a 28% increase. Veen's 2025 campaign was off to a blistering start in AAA slashing .387/.472/.677, but his first 12 games in the MLB have been humbling with Veen's batting average cooling around .118 before being sent back down to the minors. His 1st Bowman auto prices have returned to their previous ~$30-$35 range as of this article. ( Shop Zac Veen Cards on eBay) Chandler Simpson – Tampa Bay Rays 30 Day 1st Bowman Auto increase | 7.7% Chandler Simpson made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays on April 19, 2025, immediately showcasing the elite speed that made him a standout prospect. His 2022 Bowman Draft Chrome First Bowman Auto has become his most sought-after card, with recent sales showing a 7.7% increase since his call-up (Last sale on 4/20 at $140.00). Raw copies are now trading in the $20-75 range, while graded PSA 10 examples have reached the $200+ mark. Simpson's exceptional baserunning abilities and solid contact skills have created significant buzz among collectors, particularly those who value speed-focused prospects with high stolen base potential. However collectors were conservative with the second round draft pick from Georgia Tech right after the 2022 draft; with Simpson's Blue Refractor Signed RC only catching auction bids around $90 . In the minors, Simpson established himself as a contact hitter with the ability to bat over .300 and speed shown by his record setting 104 stolen bases during the 2024 MiLB season. In just 12 Major League at-bats, Simpson has already notched four hits and two stolen bases. ( Shop Chandler Simpson cards on eBay) The 2025 rookie card market continues to showcase both its volatility and potential for significant returns, as seen in the contrasting trajectories of our featured players. While Zac Veen's return to the minors is likely to send his prices plummeting, many collectors will view it as a major buying opportunity. Nick Kurtz, on the other hand, has seen his card prices skyrocket following his rapid ascent from 2024 Bowman Draft standout to 2025 MLB rookie. Chandler Simpson is an example of an extremely hot prospect whose card prices had already priced in an MLB debut—it was only a matter of time. His case reminds collectors that when a player is that hyped, the market often anticipates their debut before it happens. Meanwhile, Caleb Durbin's surprising emergence from Division III baseball highlights how overlooked talents can sometimes deliver the most impressive returns. Advertisement 37 rookies have received the call they've been waiting for their entire lives just in the month of April. For those navigating this dynamic marketplace, balancing prospect potential against actual MLB performance will remain the key challenge as these young careers develop throughout the 2025 season. Tom Brady buys 50 percent stake in sports card chain now called ‘CardVault by Tom Brady'
Tom Brady has purchased a 50 percent stake in a Boston-based sports card and memorabilia chain, which has changed its name to 'CardVault by Tom Brady' as a result of the deal. The retailer, which was founded in 2020, currently has locations inside TD Garden, Gillette Stadium and Foxwoods Resort Casino, with a location next to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey set to open in the spring. The company says it intends to 'go global, with new stores planned across the U.S. and in major international markets,' thanks to Brady's investment. Advertisement 'Sports collectibles and cards have been part of my DNA since childhood, and CardVault has set the gold standard for what a modern fan experience should be,' Brady said in a news release. 'This isn't just about buying and selling cards; it's about curating history, building community, turning fans into collectors, and giving them access to own great moments in sports.' Brady has been active in the trading card community in recent years, partnering with Fanatics, which owns card manufacturer Topps, to make appearances at hobby shops around the country. GO DEEPER Stars, cards and kids: Hobby Rip Night and Topps' path forward In 2023, Brady collaborated with Topps on a baseball card commemorating that he was drafted in the 1995 MLB draft by the Montreal Expos before focusing on football at the University of Michigan. Brady autographed some of the cards in the 2023 Bowman Draft set, including one with an inscription of 'If baseball doesn't work out, there's always football.' As part of the announcement of his CardVault stake, the company shared a video of him signing one of the 2023 Bowman cards, 'If broadcasting doesn't work out, there's always CardVault.' Top 100 MLB prospects 2025: The baseball card market for Keith Law's rankings
Welcome to your list of hopes and dreams, Bowman 1st baseball card fans. The Athletic's Keith Law released his annual top 100 MLB prospects heading into the 2025 season earlier this week. I'd recommend marking this time of year on your calendar and celebrate my colleague's in-depth coverage of all things Bowman 1st cards — I mean minor league prospects. Advertisement Law left the cards part of the research project in my hands, luckily. Below is a look at the current pricing for key players' Bowman 1st autographed base cards with a PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) 10 grade. A player's Bowman 1st autographed card appears in either Bowman Draft, Bowman Baseball, Bowman Chrome or Bowman Sapphire. For example, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes headlined the 2023 Bowman Draft release, while the product makers dropped Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews in the traditional 2023 Bowman set. There are exceptions, though, like with Law's No. 2 prospect this year. I dove into the top 10 players on the list, as well as some other notable prospects, meaning I'm bound to miss one or two in this outlook since it's not easy projecting minor league prospects. (Last four sales as of Jan. 27, via Card Ladder) GO DEEPER Top 100 MLB prospects 2025: Keith Law's rankings, with Roman Anthony at No. 1 1. Roman Anthony 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $481.25 The Boston Red Sox outfielder joined the No. 1 spot fraternity that included the following players in the past couple of years: Jackson Holliday, Corbin Carroll, Adley Rutschman, Wander Franco (twice). Obviously some of those players have panned out more than others. There's no denying the level of Anthony interest within the hobby. Three parallels of Bowman 1st auto cards have sold for at least $10,000. The most expensive sale occurred Sept. 5, 2024 at $62,000 for his Beckett 9.5 graded one-of-one Superfractor (defined by Topps as 'the rarest type of refractor card. Superfractors are short-printed, one-of-one cards, which means that for any given card, there will be only one superfractor of that card in the entire product'). 2. Sebastian Walcott 2024 Bowman base auto PSA 10*: $165.63 Jackson Chourio, Gunnar Henderson, Bobby Witt Jr. are the last three players to hold the No. 2 spot in these rankings. Why would you not collect Walcott considering his price point? Walcott is the odd exception with no autographed Bowman 1st cards. His 'Bowman 1st' came in the 2023 Bowman Chrome set, which likely affects the card values because collectors tend to gravitate to the autographed card with '1st' in the top corner. Five parallels of the 2024 autographed card have sold for at least $3,000 with the most expensive being a Red auto numbered to five with a PSA 10 grade selling for $9,500 on Sept. 13, 2024. Advertisement 3. Samuel Basallo 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $195.38 Catchers tend to hover atop Law's list each year, and this is another Baltimore Orioles catcher following Rutschman's footsteps. Fourteen sales of variations sold for at least $3,000, with five of those for at least $5,000. The catcher's most expensive sale happened this year (Jan. 10) with his red auto, numbered to just five copies, with a PSA 9 grade going for $9,000. 4. Walker Jenkins 2024 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $278.75 The Minnesota Twins outfield prospect jumped from No. 15 last year to No. 4 this year. Collectors have been in on Jenkins from the jump. Thirteen sales of variations of this base auto went for at least $5,000. Walker's one-of-one Superfractor hit a price tag of $44,286 on June 29, 2024. 5. Colt Emerson 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $231.33 Another healthy prospect launch includes the Seattle Mariners' Emerson (No. 37 last year). His Bowman 1st Sapphire auto cards have been the biggest ticket items, ranking Nos. 1-3 on his highest sales list. The red auto card numbered to five in a PSA 10 grade sold for $5,000 on June 18, 2024. 6. Max Clark 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $432 Clark leads in the cards arms race among Dylan Crews and Wyatt Langford ($373.75 latest comp) since Crews, Clark and Langford were drafted Nos. 2, 3 and 4, respectively, in the 2023 MLB Draft. Nine of Clark's cards — total, not Bowman 1st autos — have sold for at least $5,000. In a similar pattern, though, Clark's Bowman 1st red auto numbered to five and ungraded went for $8,000 on Dec. 15, 2023. 7. Dylan Crews 2024 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $382.26 The big chase in the 2024 Bowman set, 17 of his cards have sold for at least $5,000 — either coming on his Bowman 1st auto parallels or dual autos with his LSU buddy Skenes. Crews' most expensive card is his Bowman 1st red auto card in a PSA 9 grade, which sold for $12,655 on June 30, 2024. Advertisement 8. Carson Williams 2021 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $168.75 Law describes the Tampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect as the most enigmatic player in the minors. The price tag for his cards among his peers in this top 10 group exemplifies his point. Williams' top sale was a Bowman 1st orange auto (numbered to 75) with a PSA 10 grade went for $4,457 on April 29, 2022. 9. Kristian Campbell 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $357.78 Talk about 'stock up' for the Red Sox second baseman/outfielder! The previous four sales for this base auto card before Jan. 16 averaged only $211.88. Campbell's most expensive so far is his 1st Bowman Gold auto (numbered to 50) with a PSA 10 grade, which sold for $4,000 on Jan. 15. 10. Jordan Lawlar 2021 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $156.18 Prices have expectedly dropped with so much hype and not as much to show for it with the Arizona Diamondbacks infielder. His cards surged in 2022 with highest-priced cards Nos. 2-10 occurring in that year on parallels of his Bowman 1st auto. His top card sale happened Sept. 14, 2023 when a sparkle refractor (numbered to 71) in a PSA 10 grade went for $57,709. GO DEEPER MLB prospects who just missed Keith Law's top 100 ranking: Caissie, Saggese and more 14. Matt Shaw 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $226.25 The Shaw train took a recent boost with his highest sale happening less than two weeks ago ($3,500 on Jan. 21 — Sapphire red auto numbered to five in a PSA 10 grade). Maybe a sign to come with the Chicago Cubs infielder on the brink of cracking the team's starting lineup at third base. 17. Ethan Salas 2023 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $191 A drop from No. 3 on the 2024 list might be cause for concern in the market for the San Diego Padres' catcher prospect. People bought in last year though, with 14 card sales going north of $5,100, two of which sold for five figures. His Bowman 1st Superfractor auto with PSA 8 (card quality) and 10 (auto quality) grades went for $36,600 on Dec. 30, 2023. 22. Jasson Dominguez 2020 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $699.75 In Feb. 2022, Dominguez's Bowman 1st Superfractor auto with a PSA 10 grade sold for $474,000. For perspective, Aaron Judge's highest card sale occurred three months later. It went for $150,000 less than the Dominguez card. Let that sink in … For Dominguez's cards to stay anywhere near these prices, he might need to be Judge, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle combined and soon. Advertisement 25. Travis Bazzana 2024 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $534.49 Bazzana and the Kansas City Royals' Jac Caglianone headline the 2024 Bowman Draft set, in the same vein as Skenes and Langford. The Cleveland Guardians infielder's graded cards are still limited since the 2024 Bowman Draft release came in December. His path to the Majors seems like it could take shape this season for the 2024 No. 1 pick. Given the lack of top flight prospects from the 2023 draft, Bazzana's market should stay high for a while. 28. Marcelo Mayer 2021 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $283.15 Like Lawlar, collectors probably feel like they've been waiting forever for the Red Sox infield prospect to stay healthy. He has plenty of history, with 16 card sales of at least $10,000. Mayer's most expensive sale came on his Bowman 1st one-of-one Superfractor auto with a PSA 9 (card quality) and 10 (auto quality) for $132,000 on March 13, 2022. 31. Leodalis De Vries 2024 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10: $254.38 We might be waiting for the Padres shortstop prospect for a little while given he played in the minors last year as a 17 year old. Prospectors are bullish on De Vries, though. Seven of his card sales went north of $5,000. De Vries' Bowman 1st red wave auto card (numbered to five) with a PSA 10 grade sold for $12,500 on Nov. 30, 2024. 60. Jac Caglianone 2024 Bowman 1st base auto PSA 10 (only two sold): $583.35 He's 35 spots lower than Bazzana, but currently carries higher card price comparisons. This could easily fluctuate as we near spring training and yet the hype doesn't seem to be slowing down for the Royals first baseman. Already there's been 12 card sales of at least $6,000 and three reaching five figures. His Bowman 1st Sapphire red auto card (numbered to five) ungraded sold for $15,000 on Jan. 19.
