Bradwell Institute boys punch 4th consecutive trip to state tournament

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — The Bradwell Institute boys basketball team will make its fourth consecutive trip to the state tournament after 66-40 win over Evans in the quarterfinals for the Boys Region 1-AAAAA tournament on Feb. 12 at Bradwell Institute. The game was never really in doubt. Bradwell lead 14-8 after the first quarter. They led by 16, 32-16, at the half. In the fourth quarter, they led by as many as 30 points, 60-30, before earning a trip to the region tournament semifinals. Bradwell will play the Lakeside-Evans on Feb. 13 for a spot in the region championship. Lakeside-Evans is the No. 1 seed on the north side of the region. Also in the region, Statesboro fell on the road to Greenbrier, 68-60. The Blue Devils led with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. After a flagrant foul was called on Statesboro, the head coach disagreed and received a technical foul. Greenbrier made four consecutive free throws and took a lead they would not relinquish. Statesboro will not make the state playoffs this year. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
