MSU hockey commit Brady Peddle selected by Pittsburgh Penguins in 3rd round of NHL Draft
Michigan State hockey commit Brady Peddle has been selected in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft. Peddle was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the No. 91 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday. Peddle was one of many current and future Michigan State players selected in this year's NHL Draft. Peddle committed to Michigan State in April of 2024, and is still a year away from joining the Spartans per a story from the Lansing State Journal. That, of course, could change with the pick by the Penguins and since Peddle initially committed to Michigan State. Peddle played with Waterloo of the USHL this past season. He is a defenseman and is listed at 6-foot-4. Stay with Spartans Wire for additional NHL Entry Draft coverage related to Michigan State hockey. NHL News: Penguins Select Big Defender With Pick No. 91
The Pittsburgh Penguins have selected defenseman Brady Peddle with the 91st overall pick of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Peddle, 18, just completed his first season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Waterloo Black Hawks. In 62 regular-season games with the USHL club, he posted three goals, seven assists, 10 points, and a plus-12 rating. In 15 playoff games this year with the USHL squad, he posted one goal, nine assists, and 10 points. With the Penguins needing help on the left side of their defense, it is understandable that they are taking a chance on Peddle. The 6-foot-3 blueliner is not afraid of the physical side of the game and is also smart with the puck. Thus, this has the potential to be a solid pick for the Penguins.
