This 2 hour 47 minute mega budget film was released after 6 delays in 8 years, earned Rs 418 crore, the film is.., lead actors are....

In the world of showbiz, many films come and go like passing clouds. With the overload of content on OTT and releases every Friday, audiences have a shorter attention span and many options to binge on. Therefore, the time alignment of the film holds paramount importance as that can become the making and breaking factor of the movie at the box office. However, there are a few films that surpass these odds and emerge as winners. The film that we are talking about is none other than 'Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. Released on September 9, 2022. This movie was in the making for nearly a decade and got postponed six times in s span of 8 years. But when it finally did, it hit gold at the box office, and not only that, but it also reignited theatrical business by bringing about cinematic excitement post-COVID. The film was originally announced in 2014 with the title 'Dragon'. Aryan Mukeji's film plot revolved around fire, energy, and the ancient weapon Brahmastra. Earlier, this film was supposed to be released on Independence Day in 2019, but then it got postponed to Christmas. Again, its release got further escalated to September 2020; however, the pandemic broke in 2020 and was finally released in the year 2022. But despite multiple delays, this mega-budget film was made on a whopping cost of Rs. 410 crores. It collected Rs. 75 crores on the opening day and Rs. 418 crores worldwide in its total theatrical run. Reigniting the magic of the big screen, this movie was a massive hit both commercially and critically. From the larger-than-life visual experience to the great VFX, storytelling, and the star-studded cast, everything about this film was an experience to watch. This multi-starrer film featured Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, marking as their debut as a couple, which was widely hailed given their real-life relationship. It also featured superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Shah Rukh Khan's cameo. Brahmastra wasn't just a film, it was an experience that entailed elements that the Indian audience had never seen before. This story of Brahmastra also goes contrary to the belief of 'timing is everything', rather, it's the vision, story, and great cast that is everything.

Ranbir, Alia, Vicky's Love And War Eyes June 26, 2026 Release? SLB film to Avert 'Box Office Clutter'

Last Updated: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Love And War," starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is in its final shooting phase. There's a whole lot of buzz and anticipation surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Currently in its last leg, the shoot for the film is underway in Mumbai's Film City. The film will bring Ranbir and Alia onscreen together four years after their last outing, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. Interestingly, it will also mark Alia's reunion with Vicky, eight years after Raazi. For the unversed, Love And War was slated for a theatrical release during Christmas 2025. But earlier today, reports started doing the rounds that the magnum opus will hit the screens on Independence Day 2026. However, News18 has exclusively learnt that fans will get to watch the film before August next year. As per an industry source, Love And War is reportedly eyeing a solo release in June next year. The industry source tells us, 'The makers of Love And War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal & Alia Bhatt are eyeing a June 5, 2026 release. Slated exactly a week after the IPL finale and coinciding with summer holidays, the date offers a prime launchpad for a big-ticket spectacle like Love And War. With no immediate box-office clutter and a high footfall period, this could be a strategic move to maximise the film's reach." With this move, the makers will now successfully avert a clash with Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan's supernatural film, Naagzilla, and Varun Dhawan's Bhediya 2. Last week, several media reports claimed that the SLB directorial is likely to get delayed. However, a source close to the film's production revealed that all such rumours are 'baseless" and that it's pretty much on track. Earlier this year, Ranbir talked about the project during a meet and greet event in Mumbai when he said, 'Love And War is something which is every actor's dream. To work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky and to be directed by the master – Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I worked with him 17 years ago. To work with him again, I can say this with so much of clarity that I haven't met a human being who works so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, Indian value system, as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Just to be on his set, it is tiring. It is long. The process can be a little daunting but eventually, as an artist, it is so satisfying. He really nurtures art. As actors, it's truly been amazing so far."
