‘Purely coincidental': The Calgary Tower will once again be lit up orange and blue, but not for the Oilers
The Calgary Tower will once again be lit up orange and blue during the Stanley Cup Final, but not for the Edmonton Oilers.
On Friday night, the tower will be lit to commemorate the 25th Annual Calgary Brain Tumour Foundation Walk.
'We're proud to support such an important cause,' a post on the tower's social media reads.
'Any correlation to other uses of these colours around this time is, of course, purely coincidental.'
The post notes that it may feel like déjà vu, since the tower was also lit up orange and blue last year during the playoffs in support of Action Anxiety Day.
The Oilers are currently facing off against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. The Oilers claimed Game 1 on Wednesday night. Game 2 in Edmonton is scheduled for Friday night.
