Erratic man accused of random assaults busted in Caledon

An assault at a grocery store in Caledon led to the eventual arrest of a erratic man.
On Monday, the victim at the grocery store in the area of Highway 50 and Queensgate Boulevard was hit with a weapon by an unknown individual.
The suspect was described as a white male, short dark hair, wearing dark pants, a red and grey sweatshirt, black backpack and was carrying a green bag.
The next day at 3 p.m., the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) interviewed a person whose vehicle tires had been abruptly slashed in a parking lot in the area of McEwan Drive East and Highway 50 by an unknown person.
Police matched the attacker's description with the earlier day's assault, and determined it was the same person responsible for both crimes.
On Wednesday, officers, located and arrested the suspect.
As a result, a 32-year-old Brampton man was charged with:
Mischief under $5000
Assault with a weapon
Possession of a Schedule III substance
Two counts of failing to comply with a release order
He was held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
