Lima man pleads not guilty to extensive drug charges
Apr. 14—LIMA — A Lima man was indicted last month on a variety of drug charges that would include, upon his conviction, the forfeiture of 27 weapons confiscated by law enforcement.
Brandon Maitlen, 35, is charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (Adderall and amphetamine), trafficking in drugs (Xanex), three counts of trafficking in cocaine, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs (Oxycodone and Psilocyn) and possession of cocaine.
The cocaine possession charge alleges Maitlen had in his possession coke in excess of 27 grams but less than 100 grams. The first-degree felony count also calls for the forfeiture of multiple firearms, including two AR-15 rifles, a .357 magnum pistol, a Bear Creek Arsenal AR, a .22-caliber rifle, a Smith & Wesson .22 pistol, a Beretta APX, several Glock handguns, 12-gauge shotguns and a Springfield Armory Hellcat.
Maitlen also faces a first-degree felony count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, which alleges that between April of 2023 and July of 2024 he was employed by or associated with "an enterprise that did conduct or participate in ... a pattern of corrupt activity of the collection of an unlawful debt."
Maitlen on Monday entered pleas of not guilty to all charges against him. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for April 28.
