Young artists showcase their masterpieces at ‘What Art You' gallery
Young artists from around Erie County had the chance to show off their work Saturday afternoon.
The third annual What Art You youth art gallery event, held by the non-profit Opened Eyes, made its return. This year it was hosted at the MLK Community Center.

This event was free to the public and gave children the chance to express themselves with art and even sell it.
Live dance performances and poetry readings were also a part of the day's events.

'Our kids are realizing that, 'Oh wait, I can get paid for my creation?' You know? And so it's actually empowering not just to get paid, but for people to actually look at their work and appreciate the value of their work. It's empowering, it gets them motivated, and it makes them want to do more and just be more self-expressive,' said Brandon Wiley, CEO of Opened Eyes.
Food trucks, craft vendors and raffles were also available to visitors.
