More free passes could be headed Rafael Devers's way

Megill instead went after
who came into the game in the eighth inning as a pinch-runner for
Carlos Narváez
. Wong got ahead in the count, 2-0, but Megill challenged him in the zone with back-to-back 99 m.p.h. fastballs, then got a game-ending flyout to right on a 100 m.p.h. heater.
Devers now has 43 walks for the year — a pace that would yield 124 over 162 games. He has the most walks for a Red Sox hitter through 56 games since
Kevin Youkilis
(also 43) in 2010.
