As it happened: Dublin beat Derry, as Galway have edge on Armagh

It was a bumper evening of action as the group phase of the All-Ireland SFC begins to reach its conclusion. Here's how the action unfolded. 2 minutes ago FULL-TIME: Dublin 0-22 Derry 0-20 All over in Pairc Esler as Dublin retain their own kickout and kept possession before the hooter sounded allowing them to kick it dead. The win sees them finish second in Group 4 which will provide them with a home game in the preliminary quarter-finals. Peadar O'Cofaigh Byrne has been named as the man of the match this evening! Armagh 0-27 Galway 2-22 (Full-time) A buzzer beater from Shane Walsh has snatched victory for the Tribesmen as they finish third in the group of death. 6 minutes ago 69' Dublin 0-22 Derry 0-20 Just 50 seconds remaining and Brendan Rogers drills over a crucial score. With Galway winning, Derry need a goal to keep their championship hopes alive. It's a goal or nothing. 8 minutes ago 68' Dublin 0-22 Derry 0-19 A funny moment there as Brendan Cawley is reminded by Conor Glass of the advanced mark taken by Niall Loughlin who initially missed his effort on goal while advantage was played. The Steelstown man gets another chance to clip over a point which he does. 10 minutes ago 66' Dublin 0-22 Derry 0-18 A big goal chance for Sean Bugler is scooped off the line by the leg of Ruairi Forbes. The resulting '45 from Costello is unorthodox as it comes down off the post and gets recycled to Con O'Callaghan who fists over his fifth point from play. 13 minutes ago 63' Dublin 0-21 Derry 0-18 A big goal chance goes a begging for Derry as Brendan Rogers flashes the ball across the face of Stephen Cluxton. Ethan Doherty manages to pull back a point - so close to a two-pointer but he was just inside the 40-metre arc. 17 minutes ago 59' Dublin 0-21 Derry 0-17 A point from Lee Gannon briefly extends the Dubs' lead. Eoin Murchan will feel a bit hard done there as he is adjudged to have fouled Niall Toner. Shane McGuigan clips over the free with little fuss. Ryan Mulholland has stripped off and takes over from Ciaran McFaul, meanwhile Dublin's Gannon is replaced by Tom Lahiff. As things stand, Derry are going out of the championship now that Galway are winning. Conor Glass ends a barren spell of scores for Derry with a fine point as the rain starts to pour down. Armagh 0-22 Galway 2-17 (56 mins) GOAL! Rob Finnerty makes amends for that penalty miss in the first-half with a wonderful goal in Breffni Park. Armagh briefly regained the lead through scores from Jarly Og Burns and Tiernan Kelly. However, the Salthill-Knocknacarra man's finish to the net swung the scoreboard back in Tribesmen favour. 28 minutes ago 49' Dublin 0-19 Derry 0-15 Suddenly, the Dubs lead by four as John Small and Ciaran Kilkenny show their experience to work shooting angles. Dessie Farrell has since introduced Eoin Murchan while Derry have brought on Lachlan Murray. 31 minutes ago 46' Dublin 0-17 Derry 0-15 (46 mins) Ethan Doherty coverts from close range before Dublin restore their two point cushion as John Small becomes the eighth different scorer for the Boys in Blue today. Armagh 0-17 Galway 1-14 (49 mins) It'll be interesting to see if news will filer through to Newry now! Galway have battled back to pull level with Armagh as Shane Walsh registers a two-point free, before scores from Rob Finnerty and Cillian McDaid. That's three points contributed from the Dublin midfielder alone. Paul Cassidy can't convert from two-point range, but it's only a second wide of the game for Paddy Tally's men. 40 minutes ago 39' Dublin 0-14 Derry 0-14 Similar to their first-half start, Dublin surged forward after claiming the hopped ball allowing Con O'Callaghan to covert. Cormac Costello's two-point effort just lacked the accuracy a minute before Niall Loughlin clipped over a score to even things up. 44 minutes ago 36' The action is back for the second-half in Pairc Esler! The Dubs took their sweet time at the interval and left Derry out on the pitch warming up for a few minutes. As GAA+ pundit Paddy Small noted, there's dark clouds moving in overhead in Newry - if the rain comes, let's see how it impacts this free-flowing game. Armagh 0-15 Galway 1-10 (42 mins) GOAL! Galway have made inroads into the Armagh lead thanks to a goal at the third time of asking scored by Johnny Maher. 54 minutes ago Meath progress to All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals with shock nine-point win over Kerry Meath fast-tracking themselves to an All-Ireland quarter-final date in Croke Park, and Kerry headed for Monday morning's draw to see who they will host in next weekend's preliminary quarter-finals. Who'd have thought it, eh? 55 minutes ago Daniel O'Mahony's diving block saves Cork's season to knock Roscommon out of All-Ireland running Daniel O'Mahony's diving block kept Cork's season alive as the Rebels held on to eliminate Roscommon for the second time in three years. 59 minutes ago HALF-TIME: Dublin 0-13 Derry 0-13 Match referee Brendan Cawley has been a busy man in this first-half! He spots an infringement from Dublin which presents Shane McGuigan with a two-point free opportunity. The Slaughtneil man does exactly that with yet another beautiful strike. Armagh 0-15 Galway 0-07 (Half-time) With the Orchard County already qualified for the next round before a ball was kicked today, many expected them to field more fringe players. It's proved not to be the case as Kieran McGeeney's men have registered four two-pointers - half of that coming from Ethan Rafferty - in an utterly dominant first-half. Today 02:12 PM 35' Dublin 0-13 Derry 0-11 It's an absolute free-taking exhibition from Shane McGuigan who avails of the crossfield breeze to curl the ball from left to right between the uprights. Dublin win a free at the other end in two-point range and Cormac Costello tees it up on the lush Pairc Esler grass before bisecting the posts. Today 02:07 PM 31' Dublin 0-11 Derry 0-10 Niall Toner plays a crucial role in keeping the Oak Leaf County in touch. He registers his first point of the game before getting a vital touch to Cluxton's kickout in the following sequence. Paul Cassidy profits from it with a score. A bit of grappling doesn't go down well with Brendan Cawley who brandishes both Niall Scully and Patrick McGurk with the yellow card. GAA+ on Twitter / X Patient play from @Doiregaa allows Niall Toner in to split the posts 🎯Nothing between the two sides as the first half winds to a close 🕰️Football clips brought to you by @AIB_GAA #TheToughest #DERvDUB GAA+ (@GAAPlusOfficial) June 14, 2025 External contentWhen displaying external content, data is transferred to third parties. Today 02:03 PM 27' Dublin 0-11 Derry 0-08 Momentum has swung back in the Dubs favour this last while. Paddy Small raised the umpire's white flag minutes prior to a three-man rule breach from Derry. Stephen Cluxton strolled up to fizz the size five O'Neill's ball between the posts for a two-pointer. Conor Glass has been yellow carded for some heavy handed tackling. Armagh 0-12 Galway 0-04 (27 mins) Not even a Peter Cooke two-pointer can quench Armagh's momentum at the minute. Darragh McMullen nails a two-pointer before Cian McConville repeats the dose. A second penalty missed by Galway - Rob Finnerty sent it over the bar after Barry McCambridge pulled Shane Walsh down. Today 01:54 PM 19' Dublin 0-07 Derry 0-08 Shane McGuigan is a man possessed at the minute. The Slaughtneil man curled over another delightful two-point free. Killian McGinnis draws inspiration from it at the opposite end - Dessie Farrell will be glad to see that 11-minute scoreless spell concluded. Live Blog Software

Donegal start as favourites, despite or maybe even because of last week's surprise defeat to Tyrone in their one-time fortress of Ballybofey. But Cavan will be buoyed, not just by their day-one victory in Castlebar but by the dynamic performance that underpinned it. First up, though, comes the obligatory 'last-minute' changes. Raymond Galligan makes two alterations from the Cavan 15 unveiled on Friday, with Cian Madden and Seán McEvoy promoted to the home team's starting attack at the expense of Jason McLoughlin (who drops out of the match-day 26) and Ryan O'Neill (who reverts to the bench). The big news from the Donegal dressing-room is that regular netminder Shaun Patton still hasn't recovered from the ankle injury that saw him miss out against Tyrone eight days ago, so Gavin Mulready deputises again. There are two other switches from the announced line-up, Caolan McColgan and Conor O'Donnell coming in for Dáire Ó Baoill and All-Star Oisín Gallen. If Jim McGuinness's charges can frank their favouritism and secure the win that their circumstances demand, it will set up a fascinating last-day finale in a fortnight, leaving all four teams deadlocked on two points apiece ahead of the meetings of Donegal/Mayo and Tyrone/Cavan. CAVAN – L Brady; N Carolan, B O'Connell, C Reilly; P Faulkner, C Brady, K Brady; E Crowe, O Kiernan; G Smith, C McVeety, C Madden; S McEvoy, R Donohoe, C O'Reilly. DONEGAL – G Mulready; F Roarty, B McCole, P Mogan; R McHugh, E Ban Gallagher, C Moore; H McFadden, M Langan; C McColgan, C Thompson, S O'Donnell; P McBrearty, M Murphy, C O'Donnell. 51 minutes ago Michael Verney in Celtic Park: The big news in Celtic Park is that Damien Comer is back in the Galway match-day squad for their crucial All-Ireland SFC clash with Derry. Comer hasn't featured for the Tribesmen since their Connacht SFC semi-final against Roscommon but this is a must-win for Pádraic Joyce's men. With both sides losing in the opening round, there are two big points up for grabs in what will be a tough day for football in demanding conditions. 54 minutes ago Crunch clash. Both Derry and Galway are feeling the pressure having lost their first round games, with both sides hoping to get back on track today. Shane Walsh. Sportsfile. Today 08:36 AM Colm O'Rourke: Armagh can highlight why they're champions against Dublin After Dublin were beaten by Meath in the Leinster semi-final, most of the Gaelic games journalists were expecting an early exit from the championship for Dessie Farrell's side. Today 08:30 AM It's a sunny summer Sunday, a perfect setting for Gaelic football. Derry-Galway (2.0) and Dublin-Armagh (4.0) are the big ones in the Sam Maguire today, with the final round of group games in the Tailteann Cup on the cards. Antrim-London (1.45) is knockout while Fermanagh-Wexford (1.45) is the curtain raiser in Croke Park. We'll guide you through it all.

Derry stay bottom after Croke Park defeat by Dublin

Derry are still without a win in their Football League campaign as they fell to a 3-20 to 2-12 defeat by Dublin. The Ulster visitors led by three early in the game at Croke Park before Dublin seized control and Niall Scully netted as they hit 1-7 without reply to hold a 1-10 to 0-6 advantage at the break.A goal from Brendan Rogers gave Derry hope but Dublin moved clear again with Conor Tyrell and Lorcan O'Dell finding the Glass finished from close range for Derry's second goal but it proved little more than a consolation for the side sitting bottom of Division to follow...
