Staff at Irish pubs prepare for busy weekend ahead of Parade Day
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – With parade weekend underway Irish pubs are asking for all hands on deck.
Brennan's Place in Holyoke shared with 22News that they are fully staffed and ready for the rush.
Due to the holiday, employees have been asked to arrive as early as possible and stay as late as needed. The manager of Brennan's says the St. Patrick's parade weekend is the best weekend to work throughout the year. 'There is a capacity, but usually people float around. All the businesses get a good crowd,' shared Chris Camus, Manager at Brennan's Place.
The Irish pub is known to be one of the go-to spots this time of year. On Friday they kicked off parade weekend with a fundraiser.
Bar owner, Patrick Brennan was recently diagnosed with ALS. All proceeds raised from Friday's fundraiser will go towards his family as he battles the disease. If you'd like to support Pat and his family during this time you can visit their GoFundMe here.
