Man, 33, charged in connection with alleged assault that sent two to hospital in Gravenhurst

Police in Muskoka arrested a 33-year-old man from Armour Township in connection with an incident that took place in a wooded area last month that reportedly left two people seriously injured.
Bracebridge OPP is investigating an alleged assault that they say happened just before midnight on May 27 in the area of Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst.
Police officers, including tactical, K9 units, and forensic officers, combed the area of Muskoka Road South/County Road 169 and James Street for clues.

OPP says one of the two injured individuals was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries that require ongoing treatment. Their identities were not disclosed.
On Friday, police confirmed they had laid charges of aggravated assault, plus multiple firearm and drug trafficking offences against the 33-year-old man accused in the case.
He was taken into police custody to await a court appearance on July 8.
Police described the investigation as complex, and encouraged anyone with information, including potential evidence like video surveillance footage, to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
