Staying warm and humid to close out the week

TODAY: Warm & Humid, Late PM T-Storm (Ridges). Hi 89. TONIGHT: A Few T-Storms, Muggy. Lo 66. FRIDAY: Partly Sunny, Stray Eve. T-Storm. Hi 86. Yesterday's official high of 89° makes it the warmest day so far this year. Some locations in Central PA also hit 90° for the first time this year too! It remains warm and humid today and tomorrow to close out the first week of June. Expect a mix of sun and clouds today with highs just shy of 90° again. Some late evening ridgetop t-storms could develop just after sunset, but most of the region will stay dry today. There is a slightly better chance for a stray storm tomorrow afternoon and evening, but again, nothing significant is expected. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 80s. Saturday morning seems to bring the better chance for showers, but the details still remain uncertain. An area of low pressure along the coast could merge with a front to bring a period of showers on Saturday, but if the low pressure does not phase with the front, then rain chances shift to our east. As of now, Saturday is trending drier with a few morning showers and some afternoon sunshine with lowering humidity. Sunday should be mainly dry but a few late day showers can't be ruled out. Next week will bring another front that will stall near the region with more humidity and afternoon and evening storms for Monday and Tuesday. The next week features typical summer weather. Almost daily chances for a passing shower or storm, but nothing appears overly widespread or severe. Outdoor plans will be okay, but keep an eye on the forecast and track that radar on the free abc27 Weather app. -Meteorologist Brett Thackara Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Sunny and dry stretch of weather to start the week

TODAY: Smoky Sunshine, Pleasant. Hi 72. TONIGHT: Clear & Cool. Lo 52. TUESDAY: Sunny & Warm. Hi 80. After record rainfall in May (HIA saw its most rain ever for May at 9.72″!), this week will bring some needed drier weather and warmth too! Sunshine will dominate today, and even with a cool morning, temperatures will still make it into the 70s this afternoon. Canadian wildfire smoke will blow into Central PA again early this week. This means the sky will look hazy or have a milky sheen rather than its normal bright, brilliant blue. Just something to keep in mind as we expect sunny and dry weather for the first part of this week. Wednesday will be quite warm with highs reaching the mid-80s! The humidity starts to tick up by the end of the week, with upper 80s forecasted for Thursday and Friday! It will start to feel much more like summer. As the humidity starts to increase, so will the chances for showers and thunderstorms. The good news? No washouts in the forecast either. A stray shower is possible ahead of a front on Thursday, with a better chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Friday. Showers look to linger on Saturday before the humidity drops and gives the region a pleasant Sunday. We'll keep you posted on these rain chances, but for now, enjoy the sunny and dry stretch. We've earned it! -Meteorologist Brett Thackara Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Clouds build today with a stray shower around this evening, soaking rain for Wednesday

TODAY: Mostly Cloudy, Stray Evening Shower. Hi 72. TONIGHT: Showers Develop. Lo 54. WEDNESDAY: Rainy & Cool. Hi 58. Winds: E 5-15 mph. What a fantastic Memorial Day! High temperatures climbed into the 70s yesterday with plenty of sunshine and calm weather. Temperatures were still below average, but it was a step up from Saturday and Sunday. This morning will bring another cool start as clouds increase ahead of our next area of low pressure moving NE out of the Tennessee Valley. Despite more cloud cover today, temperatures should still reach the low 70s this afternoon. A stray shower may try to move in across the southern tier this evening, but most locations will stay dry until tonight. Expect a few showers to develop overnight with lows dipping into the mid-50s. A soaking rainfall is back on Wednesday. Much of the day tomorrow will feature widespread rain, with the steadiest coming in the morning. Most backyards should pick up around 0.50″ with locally higher amounts up to 1″ possible. The rain will taper to showers and drizzle tomorrow afternoon. Stray showers will linger on Thursday, but most of Thursday and Friday should be dry, with more showers expected later Friday and Saturday. Details and amounts with this next wave will become clearer later in the week. Sunday looks better with more sunshine as we kick off June. Building warmth that is typical for early summer appears more likely following this upcoming weekend. -Meteorologist Brett Thackara Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Pleasant Memorial Day ahead with slightly warmer temperatures this week

TODAY: Mostly Sunny. Hi 72. TONIGHT: Increasing Clouds. Lo 50. TUESDAY: Mostly Cloudy. Hi 74. The holiday weekend has been dry and cool, perhaps not feeling like summer, but also giving the region a break from the persistent rain that has plagued us most of the month. Today will continue that trend. Expect a chilly start (lows will be in the 40s for most), followed by a sunny and warmer afternoon. Today's highs will make it into the lower 70s. Clouds hold off until this evening or even overnight, making for a pleasant holiday. Tonight will feature thickening clouds with lows around 50°. Tomorrow will feature mostly cloudy skies with highs back in the lower 70s. The chance for a soaking rainfall will come on Wednesday. Showers will begin to develop Tuesday night across Central PA, and Wednesday morning will feature steady rain. That rain will taper to showers later in the day, with 0.50-1.00″ of rain expected at this time. Stray showers will linger on Thursday, but most of Thursday and Friday should be dry, with more showers expected on Saturday. Sunday looks better with more sunshine as we kick off the month of June. We'll keep you posted on next weekend, but for now, enjoy the pleasant weather on this Memorial Day as we remember those who have served and sacrificed for America. -Meteorologist Brett Thackara Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. More rain and drizzle today as temperatures stay cool

TODAY: Rain & Drizzle. Hi 57. TONIGHT: Cloudy, Stray Showers. Lo 50. FRIDAY: Stray Showers, Breezy. Hi 61. Winds: W 10-15 mph. Gusts to 25 mph. Yesterday, light rain and drizzle lasted for much of the day before heavier rain moved in during the evening. Most areas picked up around half an inch of rain yesterday, and today won't improve. Today will be very similar to yesterday with periods of mist/drizzle and occasional steady rain. It will be less breezy, but it will remain just as cool with temperatures stuck in the 50s again through the day. By the end of the day, the two-day total rainfall will average near 1″. This will have been a good, drought-defeating rainfall. A cool, northwest flow of air develops Friday and Saturday, as the low lifts away from the region. This will bring breezy conditions through Sunday with little in the way of clearing expected. While it will be drier, much of the weekend looks cloudy and cool. There is a chance for a stray shower on Friday, but the 3-day holiday stretch stays dry Saturday through Monday. Memorial Day may even feature the most breaks of sunshine! Temperatures won't break 70° though in the next 7-10 days as the cool air stays locked overhead. -Meteorologist Brett Thackara Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
