ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A Rowland woman has been charged with first-degree murder after authorities say she struck her boyfriend with a car.
Tequilla L. Locklear, 20, is being held without bond at the Robeson County Detention Center. Deputies responded to the 3000 block of Chicken Road about 5:30 a.m. Saturday for an alleged motor vehicle theft.
Brian Hammonds, 23, was found dead near the area of the vehicle, which investigators said wasn't stolen but used to strike him.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Raft Swamp Volunteer Fire Department and Pembroke Fire Department all assisted in the investigation.
