Clarins expands India offering with new serum launches
Clarins has expanded its skincare portfolio in India with the launch of two new brightening products: the ' Bright Plus [Advanced] Serum' and 'Bright Plus [Advanced] Serum-in-Lotion'. Launched across numerous multi-brand retail platforms, the serums are part of the French label's aim to promote both radiance and even skin tone.
The Bright Plus Serum combines plant extracts with niacinamide and a vitamin C derivative to reduce dark spots, dullness, and sallowness, while the Serum-in-Lotion offers a lightweight, essence-like texture with similar brightening and mattifying effects, Clarins announced in a press release. The label's expanding India product offering reflects the growing consumer demand for premium skincare goods in the country.
The new products are powered by the brand's 'Evenness Boosting Technology,' featuring purple tea extract, which is claimed to increase the number of caveolae (protein structures responsible for melanin distribution) by 130%. According to Clarins, the innovation is based on a scientific breakthrough published in Nature Communications, identifying caveolae as key to maintaining even skin tone and mitigating dullness caused by oxidative stress.
Clarins Research announced it also conducted a study on 180 Chinese women and concluded that even skin tone plays a significant role in how brightness is perceived, with skin appearing 29% brighter when tone is even. Priced from Rs 5,700 to Rs 9,100, the products are now available online and in-store through Shoppers Stop, SSBeauty, Tira, Sephora, and Nykaa. The launch supports Clarins' broader strategy of combining plant-based actives with scientific innovation to address Indian skincare needs.
