Brooke Burke says Ozempic causes 'terrible' metabolic issues, warns against trying to 'cheat the system'

When it comes to "quick" weight-loss strategies, Brooke Burke has never shied away from giving her "two cents." "When it comes to the world of Ozempic, which has changed the landscape of obesity, I'm not mad at it, I'll be really honest," the fitness guru and TV personality, 53, told Page Six in an interview. "But I'm not mad at it if someone is disciplined enough to weight train, to do their blood work and to eat. What drives me crazy is people that want a quick fix, they want to starve their body, and they don't understand the value of weight training." Burke, whose Stronger Together 90‑day guided challenge begins later this month, said denying your body food is "terrible" for your metabolism. "We're seeing this depleted look because people are losing their appetite," she explained. "That's the hormone, right? It helps you curb your appetite. They're not eating. That's terrible for your metabolism. That is terrible for everything." "I know we wanna cheat the system as Americans, we do," she said. "We're looking for that quick fix; it's not necessarily sustainable." "Everything from hormones to Ozempic to fad diets to tips and tricks to what's real, what's BS. And I am really honest with my community," she continued. "If any of us think that we're going to go take a prescription, and it's going to solve all of our problems, and we're gonna be able to stay on that, we're in big trouble," she added. Last year, Burke spoke candidly about the dangers of drugs such as Ozempic. "I think the lazy person that's turning to quick fixes for numbers on a scale, that doesn't have boundaries, that's not disciplined, that doesn't understand the value of muscle, of weight training and of boundaries within a nutritional plan, is going to crash and burn. I think it's super dangerous." "Somebody who can't move the needle for whatever reasons it may be, diabetics, hormones, there's a long list of them, that can work with a doctor under their care, manipulate the system, bring down glycemic levels," said Burke. "I think it has some great benefits, but it requires a purposeful plan." The Brooke Burke Fitness founder explained that she takes a holistic approach when helping her clients achieve their health goals. "The type of work that I do with people isn't about that quick fix, that pill, that diet, that fad thing that's going to fade away," she said. "It's about longevity. It's about a sustainable lifestyle. It's about mobility, strength. For me, it's really this marriage of strength and weakness. Can I understand my own body?" WATCH: BROOKE BURKE ADDRESSES CRITICS WHO BELIEVE HER MORNING ROUTINE IS TOO DIFFICULT "I struggle with a lot of different autoimmune diseases, so I know how to manipulate my body," Burke added. "I know how to biohack my system. I know what my body needs. I know about anti-inflammatory foods. I know about energy. I know about cellular repair." Burke previously revealed that she is battling three autoimmune diseases. The former "Dancing With the Stars" host suffers from vitiligo and inflammatory bowel disease as well as Hashimoto's disease, a chronic autoimmune disorder which can cause hyperthyroidism. In 2012, Burke shared that she underwent a thyroidectomy after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She has remained cancer-free since the surgery. Brooke Burke swears by 'weird' morning routine powered by belly patches, longevity smoothies

Brooke Burke's "weird" morning routine is not for the weak, but she says it's worth it. In a new interview with Fox News Digital, Burke broke down her detailed, three-hour health and beauty routine, which includes some unusual practices. "This castor oil belly button detox that's popping right now on social media, I got suckered. I ordered a kit," Burke began. "It's not about the castor oil. It's really about, I think, the process of connecting with the belly, heating up the core. You sleep with it, so you get this big bandage… I think personally, because it looks so weird, that's why everyone's interested." Burke said that after removing the patch in the morning, she will typically perform a lymphatic drainage massage on herself and rubs in the remaining oil. "It actually works for bloating, detoxing. Skin quality is great. And I think it might be… maybe part of it's mental – you know, I'm always a skeptic and I keep it real – but it might also be the intention of kind of loving your belly a little bit and doing a belly massage and just taking care of yourself. So yeah, weird, I know, I like weird things," Burke laughed. "So yeah, weird, I know, I like weird things." The fitness guru's longevity smoothie comes next. "So a lot of people are asking, 'What is longevity?' So we're actually in a process right now of rebranding and possibly even retitling, because for the most part, longevity is a little bit more in relation to lifespan, and has some scientific components. But longevity is the superfood blend. Let's call it a superfood boost. WATCH: Brooke Burke swears by her longevity smoothies "It has everything in there for recovery, endurance and energy. So maca, matcha, flaxseed oils, probiotics for the tummy, sustainable energy, pea protein. So a little bit of protein, but it's not a protein powder. It's a superfood blend for anti-inflammatory," she explained. Burke adds two scoops of the longevity powder to her smoothies every morning, but she also listens to her body to see what she needs every day. "I think that a lot of women are struggling getting their protein… especially in your 40s, 50s, 60s – we have to improve our protein intake for lean muscle. To maintain the muscle that we have and certainly to build muscle, which gets harder and harder. So doing a smoothie for me, it's a two-minute meal," Burke said. Some mornings, Burke will also do a cold plunge for her face. She fills up a bowl with ice water and dunks her face in it. WATCH: Brooke Burke admits her detailed morning routine is 'weird' "So you get like a big Tupperware or a big bowl. You have to fill it with ice. It's not just cold water. Is it fun? No. Will it get rid of puffiness? Will it tighten up the skin? Yes, cold water, the skin reacts. It'll wake up your face. It literally is a cold plunge for your face and all you do is you get your hair out of the way, you stick your face in it for as long as you can. And it's pretty amazing. "It actually works. So all of those weird things that I posted in my morning routine are things that, yes, I really do them and yes, they really work," Burke said with a laugh. Burke recently uploaded a video of her morning routine to Instagram, and it sparked a lot of mixed reviews. "This is her routine everyday? I'm all for self-care and self-love but seems to be a little too much for this single mom," one user wrote. Another added, "What about people that need to go to actual work and make the world go round." WATCH: Brooke Burke addresses critics who believe her morning routine is too difficult Some Instagram users praised Burke for sharing her intricate routine. "Oh I love this," one user wrote. "Ok! Must do!" another added. During her interview with Fox News Digital, Burke explained that she wakes up very early in the morning to get some key time for herself. She also addressed those who are skeptical of her morning routine. "I think it is difficult. I think change is difficult. I think it is time-consuming, but the reality is you're worth it. And if you can steal an hour extra in the day by getting up early, let's go. If you can carve out two hours where you can actually set yourself up for success during the day, you will be more productive. You will be connected. You will have a greater sense of clarity," she said. She added, "I would say wake up an hour earlier. I would say yes, meditate in the morning. And that might mean that you're laying down for 10 minutes, just going through your day. You don't have to completely quiet the mind." Burke shared a time-hack she has been incorporating which is "walk and talk." "If you can steal an hour, move in the morning, take a walk. Maybe you have a bunch of calls. You know what I've been doing lately: a walk and talk. So this has been a game changer for me," she said. Burke aims to hit 10,000 steps per day, in addition to her daily workout. "That's not my workout. Those are free calories, free. So, put that into perspective," she said. For those who don't have as much time in the morning, Burke suggests people prioritize time for themselves, getting a good night's rest, being outside and walking.

Fans left confused by Brooke Burke's bizarre 'belly button patch' amid backlash over 'unrealistic' three-hour morning routine

Brooke Burke 's intense three-hour morning routine sparked confusion and backlash from fans who called it 'unrealistic.' The 53-year-old former model — who recently sizzled in a bikini — shared her jam-packed 6 AM to 9 AM schedule in a video posted to her Instagram on Tuesday. The Dancing With The Stars veteran's busy routine includes sleeping with a castor oil patch, doing a 'lymphatic drainage' tummy massage, a facial cold plunge, sweating it out in the sauna, and a 30-minute workout among a number of other activities. The clip starts out with Brooke laying in bed in bra and panties, as she takes off her belly button patch, which is supposed to aid with digestive issues and reduce bloating. She tells her followers, 'When you rise with the sun, you get it done.' Confused fans in the comments asked the star: 'What is the belly button pad??' and 'What's the patch?' Brooke then proceeds to give herself a tummy massage, before making her lemon water, which the star adds she always does prior to drinking her coffee. Brooke, who wears six different outfits throughout the clip, is then pictured sweating it out in the sauna, in a nude bodysuit. After changing her outfit to a blue sports bra and jeans, Brooke makes fresh celery juice, before doing a 30-minute workout in a pink bra and purple shorts. She proceeds to make a 'sun tea', which she steeps out in the sun to absorb 'all the vitamin D.' Brooke then breaks her fast with a 'longevity smoothie.' The star, who reappears in the clip wearing a checkered dress, then follows it up with a facial cold plunge. After washing her hair, Brooke changes into a flowing kimono robe and pops on eyepatches. The beauty then gives herself a blow dry and puts on her skin care products, followed by her glam routine. Towards the end of the clip Brooke tells her followers that if they want to be more productive, they have to 'wake up early.' She caption the video: '✨ Rise with the sun & get it done! Here's my morning routine from 6 AM to 9 AM while my house sleeps.' 'Waking up early transforms my day, giving me quiet moments to reflect, plan, & energize. Each sunrise brings new possibilities, setting the tone for productivity & positivity. Let's seize the day! ☀️ sleep when you're sleepy.' Not all fans in the comments were impressed by Brooke's commitment to her morning routine. After changing her outfit to a blue sports bra and jeans, Brooke makes fresh celery juice, before doing a 30-minute workout in a pink bra and purple shorts 'This is her routine everyday? I'm all for self-care and self-love but seems to be a little too much for this single mom,' one wrote. 'What about people that need to go to actual work and make the world go around,' another wondered. 'This is not reality for normal Americans,' someone else chimed in. 'Very unrealistic.' 'Seriously, do people have no life to just wake up and do all this what happened to humanity? What happened to just waking up and looking at the sun and having a cuppa coffee and going on about your day,' another fan asked. 'If I had that kind of time to do what you do, and the money to be able to use great products, do yoga all day, prep meals and smoothies, etc, I'd be in much better shape. Instead, I work. And work.' 'What time do you have to get to work?' someone else inquired. Brooke's health and wellness secrets certainly seem to be working, as the star was recently seen looking very toned and tanned when walking on the beach in Malibu. She was pictured smiling as she had on a neon green triangle bikini top and matching micro-short briefs. This comes just as she revealed to that she has a method for staying thin. 'I do hot yoga body sculpting, which is an incredible opportunity to heat up the core, stretch, release toxins, and explore restorative yoga poses,' said the fiancée of Scott Rigsby. 'Free movement and positive mantras are pushing through new areas of fitness.' Brooke also told what her top three exercises to do every day are. 'I like to stretch and do booty BURN circuit (twisty kickbacks) as well as child pose push‑ups,' she shared. 'My four week booty challenge is timed out to be just 10 minutes a day. It's a full circle of every move to tone, tighten, and lift the glutes.' Burke also said just walking out your front door and going for a stroll is smart as well. 'Movement is what matters most. And giving yourself the opportunity to get outside, move your body, and escape from your to do list, is meaningful,' she said. Burke is a fitness personality, model, author, actress, and businesswoman. She is known for hosting the E! Network travel show Wild On! (1999–2002), CBS's Rock Star (2005–2006), and TV Lands' She's Got the Look (2010). After winning the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars, Burke served as co-hostess of the show from season ten to season seventeen (2010–2013).
