New exhibition opening next week at Roberson
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Appreciate the underrated beauty of a common household object as Roberson Museum presents its latest exhibition.
'Please be Seated' will open at Roberson on February 7 as part of Broome County Art Council's First Friday Art Walk. The new exhibit features more than two dozen chairs spanning three centuries that have been collected by Roberson and The Broome County Historical Society.
Guests are invited to explore the historical significance, artistic expression, and refined craftsmanship of the chair. The exhibition highlights chairs made in Binghamton as well as a golden upholstered chair that dates back to 18th century France.
Those who attend the grand opening between 12 and 9 p.m. will receive half-price admission to the museum.
