Little Italy Endicott kicks off the season with Spring Market

ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Endicott's Northside will be in full bloom this weekend as a local non-profit organization says 'hello' to spring. Little Italy Endicott is hosting its Spring Market on May 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Little Italy Endicott Heritage Center, located at 109 Odell Avenue in Endicott. The Spring Market marks the official kickoff to the Little Italy Endicott's Farmers Market season. There will be more than 20 local vendors offering a mix of handmade and homegrown goods, ensuring there is something for everyone. During the event, Andrea's Angel Paintings will be honored. Andrea's works of art are created through a process of prayer and creativity. Before each painting session, Andrea prays for guidance. The result is a collection of angel portraits that have touched customers throughout the region. The Little Italy Endicott Spring Market free to attend and open to all. Bruce Erath named Chenango County Citizen of the Year

CHENANGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Chenango County resident is being honored for his leadership, service, and dedication to the community. The Baden-Powell Council, Scouting America, announced that Bruce Erath was named the 2025 Chenango County Distinguished Citizen. 'It is a privilege to recognize Bruce Erath as this year's honoree,' said Mark Golden of Golden of Golden Artis Colors, who received the recognition in 2019 'Bruce's leadership and commitment to the community exemplifies the ideals of the Scouting program. We hope the community will help us honor him and help support Scouting America in Chenango County.' After graduating from Cornell University in 1976, Erath began his career as a vocational agriculture teacher at Sherburne-Earlville High School. After nine years in education, he left teaching for the financial services industry. In 2017, Erath began Hearth Financial Partners with his daughter Alexandra. With offices in Norwich and Hamilton, the father-daughter duo provides investment advisory as well as financial advising and planning services for individuals and businesses throughout New York State and in various locations across the United States. In addition, Erath has served on the board of directors of the New York State FFA Leadership Training Foundation and is currently the vice-chair of Chenango Memorial Hospital. In the past, he has served as the Chairman of the Chenango County Chamber of Commerce and was the commissioner for youth baseball as well as a coach for 19 years. Erath and his wife Kathleen, residents of Sherburne, have been married for over 49 years. They have two children. The award will be presented at a celebration dinner at the Canasawacta Country Club on May 15. Local Scouts from Troop 66 in Sherburne will serve as the Color Guard.
