Could you pass a SATs test set for a 10-year-old? Take our quiz to find out
Children aged 10 and 11 are currently taking their SATs at primary schools across Birmingham.
All Year 6 pupils are routinely tested in maths, English grammar, punctuation, spelling and reading before they move onto secondary school.
Today, we've adapted a combination of maths and English SATs papers set by the Department for Education and turned them into a quiz to give you an idea on the types of questions children are being asked.

It also gives you the chance to see whether you would pass the tests yourself.
Unlike our fun quiz, Y6 pupils tackle the papers under formal exam conditions within their classrooms.
The maths papers combine a mixture of arithmetic and reasoning questions whilst the English papers are split into reading and spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG).
So, think you could ace a Year 6 SATs test? Give the test below a go or, if it's not visible, click on this link to our quiz here and it will open in a new window.

You'll have to be fast as you only have 60 seconds to answer each question - this is longer than the Year 6 children get!
Please bear in mind that we've made our questions multiple choice. In a real SATs arithmetic test, children would be expected to calculate the answers themselves without the aid of a calculator and to answer longer questions in English.
You can try past papers for yourself on the website.
