Bryan County Commission Chairman considers bid for Congress
BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The Bryan County Commission Chairman told WSAV Tuesday that he was considering a run for Congress.
Carter Infinger would likely run as a Republican for Georgia's 1st Congressional District. The current seat-holder, Rep. Buddy Carter (R) announced his plans to run for U.S. Senate last week against Sen. Jon Ossoff (D).
Infinger was recently re-elected for a third term this past fall. He has served on the county commission since January 2011.
The 1st Congressional District covers 15 different counties across southeast Georgia: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Ware and Wayne counties.
