Man found dead near Dollar General
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man was found dead near a Dollar General in Salem, according to the Oconee County Coroner's Office.
The body of a 39-year-old Salem man was found next to Stamp Creek Road near the Dollar General Store. The coroner's office said that the man's death is currently being investigated as a fatal hit-and-run.
The victim was identified as Bryan Alexander Devries. The coroner's office said that Devries was employed at the Dollar General, and would routinely walk to work. Devries was reported missing by a co-worker after he failed to appear to work in two days.
This incident remains under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Monday.
