Best case scenario for the Bucs in round one of the NFL Draft

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been told they need to do about five hundred different things in the 2025 NFL Draft. They need to shore up the edge rusher position, add more depth on the defensive line, and fix the secondary. Just eight days before the draft, we have finally decided on the best-case scenario for the Bucs. The best thing the Bucs could have fallen into their lap is one of the top-tier pass rushers falling into their lap. While Abdul Carter has about as much of a chance as being a Buc as you do of being attacked by a polar bear, grizzly bear, and a pigeon on the same day, they could have another talent fall to them. Advertisement The next two best pass rushers after Carter are James Pearce Jr. and Mike Green. Ironically enough, for them to get to the Bucs they have to fall past the Saints, Panthers, and Falcons who all have premier needs at the edge rusher position as well. If all the Bucs rivals pass on them, they need to be ready to pounce on one of them to complete their defensive front. A nice consolation prize would be Jihaad Campbell, he also happens to be the most realistic option for the Bucs at 19. The Alabama linebacker isn't a bad choice for the team, but Jason Licht has been searching for an answer for getting a reliable edge rusher ever since he joined the team in 2014. Green and Pearce Jr. both appear to be players who could become 10-15 sack a year players, something the Bucs need. Former Buc Rob Gronkowkski shares his thoughts on Tom Brady as a broadcaster

Former Buc Rob Gronkowkski shares his thoughts on Tom Brady as a broadcaster Former Bucs Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady came to Tampa Bay with chips on their shoulders and something to prove. After some growing pains with their new team, they found momentum and it led to them securing a Super Bowl victory. Fast-forward a couple of years, and both men are embarking on media careers. Gronkowski recently spoke to On3 and shared his thoughts on his former quarterback and how he is doing in his new role. 'He's doing an excellent job and I'm so proud of him. He has definitely improved as well since his first couple games, which is understandable. I mean, it's such a tough job to do, there's so much pressure on you. You never called a game ever, for that long in your life, to be up in that booth and break down plays like that." Gronkowski also had his fair share of struggles starting in his media career. In recent years, however, he has shown that he meshes better over time with his Fox NFL Sunday co-hosts and analysts. The future Hall of Fame tight end knows that will happen with Brady as well. 'But you get better as you go on, and that's all… I expect nothing less from Tom Brady as well, to get better, because he loves to practice good habits, he loves to get better, he'll do anything it takes to get better," Gronkowski said. "And just to see his improvement from week one to where he is in the playoffs now, is just tremendous, didn't expect anything less. And he's doing such a great job in the playoffs, it's like he's a veteran now.' Brady will be coming off calling the Super Bowl in February when the league starts broadcasting games in the preseason. If Tom Brady has shown us anything, time is his friend both on and off the field, that includes his broadcasting career.

New Buc OL Charlie Heck impressed by 'rare freak' Tristan Wirfs

New Buc OL Charlie Heck impressed by 'rare freak' Tristan Wirfs Charlie Heck is joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which allows the team to have some added flexibility along the offensive line. They lost Justin Skule in free agency, and they are looking for a new swing tackle to fill his role. The Bucs found that when they signed Charlie Heck from the Houston Texans to fill that role. Charlie Heck arrived at the team facility for his introduction, and he was very quick to throw some memorable praise at one teammate. Heck had a smile on his face talking about his new teammate, Tristan Wirfs. He describes him as 'one of those rare freaks that don't come around often.' That is a fairly accurate description of Wirfs, as he has shown time and again, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. Heck is hoping he gets to see Wirfs get his work done from afar, for intents and purposes, the less he sees of the field, the better, as that means everyone is remaining healthy. After the injury-filled 2024 season, that would be a welcome sight.

Charleston Southern University grows aeronautics with new flight school

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston Southern University has purchased a flight school to provide a high-quality flight training experience for its aeronautics program. Charleston Southern purchased Chucktown Flight Training, LLC DBA Carolina Sky Flight Training, a local group based in Summerville. University officials say CSU began its partnership with the flight school back in 2021 to offer CSU's inaugural professional pilot degree, the only 4-year collegiate program in South Carolina. 'This is a historic and transformative moment in the life of our university,' said CSU President B. Keith Faulkner. 'This acquisition allows us to reach greater heights and excellence in our education of the next generation of pilots and managers. Whether they dream of flying for commercial airlines, service in Air Force or Space Force, or using their talents to serve in missions.' The CSU aeronautics program was started less than four years ago with 19 students and has grown to more than 150 students, according to the university. As a result of growing, CSU has committed to a multi-million dollar investment in the aeronautics program for 2025. In addition to the flight school, the university is providing a centralized location for the aeronautics faculty and staff in its second construction phase for the science and engineering building this summer. Officials say a new flight simulation lab will also be installed in that space. 'This acquisition ensures that the university will be able to provide stellar training for new pilots, as well as for others interested in avionics as a future career,' said CSU Board Chair Dean Murphy. 'As a university, we remain committed to offering educational opportunities which will afford our graduates with immediate employment opportunities. Exciting times to be a Buc!' The acquisition will also bring opportunities to the veterans enrolled at CSU. Officials say veterans will soon be able to apply U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Post 9/11 benefits to private pilot flight training. Owning the flight school also makes the professional pilot program eligible to be considered for approval to enroll international students through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. CSU officials said they are working with Congress for additional equipment funding that will increase the training pipeline capacity and enhance the degree program experience.
