Police probe viral video of officer allegedly inviting woman to hotel
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating the viral video of a police officer allegedly inviting a woman to check into a hotel with him while on duty.
Bukit Aman Department of Integrity and Standards Compliance director Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad said his department will not hesitate to take strict action against the officer and supervising officer if the complaint has basis.
"The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
"Bukit Aman is also conducting a parallel investigation on the low-rank police officer, including from a supervisory aspect," he said in a statement today.
Azri said the incident was believed to have occurred in Ampang Jaya, Selangor, and an probe was launched after Pandan Indah police station chief lodged a report.
