Pairin leads KDCA Central Committee for 2025–2028 term
The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Central Committee for the 2025–2028 term.
KOTA KINABALU (April 30): The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Central Committee for the 2025–2028 term will be led by Huguan Siou, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Datuk Kitingan.
He will be supported by five deputy presidents: Bulawan Sigah Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey G. Datuk Kitingan, Bulawan Sigah Datuk Seri Panglima Professor Dr Clarence Bongkos Malakun, Bulawan Sigah Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Bulawan Sigah Datuk John Anthony, and Bulawan Sigah Datuk Joseph Paulus Lantip, who also serves as Treasurer General.
The committee includes ten vice presidents: Datuk James Ratib, Tindarama Datuk Robert Tawik, Datuk Juil Nuatim, Tindarama Datuk Daniel Datuk Kinsik, Datuk Hendrus Anding, Tindarama John Chryso Masabal, Tindarama Datuk Julita Majungki, Bulawan Sigah Datuk Claudius Roman, Datuk Leonard S. Poyong and Tindarama James M. Muyau.
Tindarama Datuk Suman Yasambun has been appointed as Secretary General, assisted by Gun. Davis We Joseph as Assistant Secretary General. Zandi Maureen Kananong takes on the role of Assistant Treasurer General.
Meanwhile, Tindarama Sairah Indan has been appointed Organising Secretary, with Tindarama Flavia Ignatius as her assistant.
In his speech, Pairin emphasised that the responsibility of leadership now rests on the shoulders of the newly formed Central Committee.
He noted that a meeting would be held in June in Tambunan to discuss, in depth, the association's vision, mission, and strategic direction moving forward.
'I wish to express my appreciation to all members of the Central Committee — both new and returning — for their continued support. Our journey is far from over. We have merely arrived at station 59, as KDCA marks its 59th anniversary,' he said.
Pairin highlighted the association's important role, not only for its members but for the Kadazandusun community as a whole. Since its founding, KDCA has worked tirelessly to uplift the community and contribute to its progress.
'Our efforts, plans and actions are aligned with those of the government, which aims to see the people of Sabah continue progressing under the 'Sabah Maju Jaya' motto. As such, we are committed to preserving our culture while also creating opportunities for our people to participate in economic development, including tourism.'
He added that key events such as the Kaamatan Festival serve as a catalyst to strengthen the community's resolve and unity, encouraging continued progress in both social and economic spheres.
