David Raum thanks Marco Rose for RB Leipzig's 'training retreat'
David Raum thanks Marco Rose for RB Leipzig's 'training retreat' Among the players most enthusiastic about head coach Marco Rose's decision to take the team on an Austrian retreat this weekend, RB Leipzig full-back David Raum was the first to laud Rose after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Freiburg in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday night. The 26-times-capped German international lauded Rose's leadership when speaking to Sky Germany. 'If you look at the game, one point is definitely not enough,' Raum noted. 'We keep drawing away from home and that's not our aspiration. But we made some good progress, had a good game plan, and the coaches did a great job of getting us prepared. Advertisement 'There's ease and joy in training, in part thanks to the short [Salzburg] training camp,' Raum continued. 'The general mood feels right, but we just can't transfer it to the game. We just have to admit that it's not easy here in Freiburg and take the positives with us. 'Marco has a good relationship with everyone, fosters a positive atmosphere, and always finds the right words after games,' Raum concluded. 'It's definitely not the coach. He has not only influenced me here, but makes [useful] connections with every player.' GGFN | Peter Weis

Predicted Bayer Leverkusen XI v Bayern Munich: No recognised striker for B04?
Xabi Alonso is expected to revert to a back-four when his Bayer Leverkusen side face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tonight. The biggest question mark for Alonso heading into the game is the fitness of Edmond Tapsoba. The Burkinabé missed Bayer's win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga Topspiel because of a thigh injury, which would see Mario Hermoso retain his place should the central-defender not pass a late fitness test. Robert Andrich (ill) is also sidelined so expect to see Exequiel Palacios starting ahead of Aleix Garcia alongside Granit Xhaka. In attack, Alonso has fielded a recognised striker in the two games since their 0-0 draw against Bayern Munich last month but like the game at the BayArena, Alonso isn't expected to start neither Victor Boniface nor Patrick Shick, with Jeremie Frimpong and Amine Adli the preferred 'false' duo, although Nathan Tella could retain his place.
