Burien police: Gang member detained with ghost gun
BURIEN, Wash. - Police in Burien say they have taken a ghost gun off the streets from a gang member. Detectives with Burien Crime Reduction say they were conducting area checks throughout the city when they saw several "male gang members at the Puget Sound park." This is when the department says patrol deputies were brought in to help make the arrest of a man with a fully loaded gun. Law enforcement checked the gun following the arrest and now report it was an untraceable "ghost gun" and a functioning firearm after conducting test fires. Burien police seize ghost gun in gang arrest
The Burien Police Department (BPD) recovered an untraceable firearm or 'ghost gun' in an arrest on Friday, BPD posted on Facebook. BPD said detectives saw several gang members at Puget Sound Park, and one of them could be seen with a gun. After arresting the suspect, officers found that the gun was fully loaded and by test firing it with a blank cartridge, learned it was a functioning firearm, the post said.
