1 dead, 2 hurt in Morganton shooting: Sheriff
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting in Morganton Saturday evening.
Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Kathy Road and McAlpine Avenue around 5:45 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they discovered that one person with a gunshot wound was transported by a personal vehicle to the hospital. That person was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

There were two other victims. One was transported by EMS to UNC Health Blueridge and another refused medical treatment and had non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not released any details on arrests or the identities of the victims.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation.
