Tennessee Titans granted NFL international marketing rights in Ireland
Get ready to incorporate some green and orange into the two-tone blue. The Tennessee Titans have been awarded NFL international marketing rights in Ireland, meaning the Titans will be able to build communities, fan events, brand awareness and commercial opportunities across the Atlantic Ocean. Advertisement The NFL debuted its "Global Markets Program" in 2022, giving licensing rights to teams in 21 countries, but the Titans had not been included in the group before now. The Titans will join Green Bay, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and the New York Jets among teams with marketing rights in Ireland. "Both Nashville and Ireland are deeply rooted in music, storytelling, and community pride," Titans president Burke Nihill says. "This partnership allows us to authentically connect with Irish fans while promoting the shared values and cultural bonds between our regions. We see this as a tremendous opportunity to grow our fan base, foster new relationships, and promote the best of Music City abroad.' Flights connecting Nashville to Dublin, launched in April, another notch for the connection. SCHEDULE TALK: Tennessee Titans 2025 game-by-game predictions following NFL schedule release Advertisement "Nashville and Ireland have long shared a strong musical bond, and that connection is set to grow even deeper as the Tennessee Titans engage directly with Irish fans,' said Deana Ivey, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. 'With the launch of a new direct flight and the expansion of the Titans fan base, our two cultures are more linked than ever. We look forward to sharing even more of our Southern hospitality and unmistakable magic of Music City.' Prior to this partnership, the Titans were one of just three NFL teams without international marketing rights, the others being Buffalo and Cincinnati. By contrast, there are teams like the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, L.A. Rams, Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks that have five or more active partnerships. The NFL will play its first game in Dublin in 2025, pitting the Minnesota Vikings against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 28 at Croke Park. The Titans last played overseas in 2023 in London and will not play internationally in 2025. "League-wide club participation in the program underlines the strategic priority both the NFL and its teams share, to invest in global growth," says Peter O'Reilly, the NFL executive who oversees international development. "We continue to see strong momentum worldwide and look forward to bringing fans internationally closer to our game, together.' Advertisement Nick Suss is the Titans beat writer for The Tennessean. NFL grants Tennessee Titans international marketing rights in Ireland
NFL grants Tennessee Titans international marketing rights in Ireland The NFL's Global Markets Program is designed to allow teams to build brand awareness and fandom outside the United States. The program started in 2022, and the league aims to have every team participate. Recently, the Nashville Convention and Visitor's Corporation collaborated with the city of Dublin, Ireland, and Aer Lingus Airlines to establish a direct flight from Nashville to Dublin. The flight operates four times a week and connects the Music City with the Celtic tradition of Ireland. In an effort to bolster this relationship, the NFL granted international marketing rights to the Tennessee Titans in Ireland. "Both Nashville and Ireland are deeply rooted in music, storytelling, and community pride. This partnership allows us to authentically connect with Irish fans while promoting the shared values and cultural bonds between our regions," said Burke Nihill, Titans President and CEO. "We see this as a tremendous opportunity to grow our fan base, foster new relationships, and promote the best of Music City abroad." Titans ditching Houston Oilers uniforms in 2025 after losing twice to Texans
Titans ditching Houston Oilers uniforms in 2025 after losing twice to Texans Columbia Blue is saying see you later to the city of Nashville. According to reports, the Tennessee Titans won't don the iconic Houston Oilers jerseys in 2025 whenever the Houston Texans travel to Nissan Stadium for a matchup with the former Houston-based franchise. Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk might be getting rid of the iconic Oiler logo, but she's instead making sure that everyone will remember their ties to Houston. According to reports from the team's website, the Titans making light blue its primary color going forward, a homage to the color that became a staple of H-Town football in the 1970s. 'We're talking to fans and we're listening, and there's a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team from 1960 in Houston, into Memphis, at Vanderbilt and as we've played at Nissan Stadium,' Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said on the team's site. 'We're going to emphasize that this year and change to Titans blue as the primary color. As we sit here today, the plan is to wear Titans blue at every one of our home games this year.' Strunk, who's father Bud Adams owned the Oilers and eventually moved to the team from Houston to Nasvhille, brought back the old uniforms as the Titans' alternates beginning in 2023. As expected, the logo, jeresys and a merchandise sales were through the roof across the country outside of the city of Houston. Those who were left behind when Adams moved to the north paused the Titans' decision to wear a Houston-based uniform whenever playing against the new Houston team that was founded in 2022. Since the league allows uniforms to change every four years, the Titans will embrace what they're now calling "Titans Blue" for the 2025 season and beyond. It's going to be Columbia Blue with a new shading that won't be exactly the same as the Columbia Blue people have known for years. 'The Titans Blue has always been a part of this organization, and there is something that is uniquely this organization when that color is the dominant color," Nihill said. "You see it, and you know the team that is being represented — it's the Titans.' Is it bad that the Titans won't be wearing the Oilers jerseys anymore? Maybe not since Houston is 2-0 against the Titans whenever those uniforms are being worn. And what's worse is C.J. Stroud didn't defeat Tennessee wearing those colors, but instead it was the backups. In 2023, Case Keenum led Houston to a victory in Week 16, helping the Texans inch closer to securing a playoff bid. Last year, Davis Mills and the backups entered the game after the opening drive to help cap off a second 10-win season under DeMeco Ryans.

Titans won't wear iconic Oilers' throwback uniforms in 2025
Titans won't wear iconic Oilers' throwback uniforms in 2025 The Tennessee Titans are making some changes to their uniforms in 2025 the organization announced on Thursday. Although the team has worn light blue jerseys throughout its storied history, this season, it plans to embrace light Titan blue more than ever, announcing a switch to light blue as the primary home jersey for 2025. "We're talking to fans and we're listening, and there's a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team from 1960 in Houston, into Memphis, at Vanderbilt and as we've played at Nissan Stadium," Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said in a statement. "We're going to emphasize that this year and change to Titans blue as the primary color. As we sit here today, the plan is to wear Titans blue at every one of our home games this year." With a focus on Titan blue throughout the season, a color worn throughout franchise history, there will be no Houston Oilers throwback in 2025. This is a bit of a shock considering the popularity of the uniform combinations, especially in recent seasons. The Titans will wear white uniforms on the road and will use navy blue uniforms as their alternate uniform in 2025. The plan comes from a desire to come up with a more consistent, uniform combination throughout the season and into the future as they build toward the opening of new Nissan Stadium in 2026.
