Alex Jones makes a rare public appearance with husband Charlie Thomson as they leave Royal Academy of Arts party hand in hand after TV star spoke out on his health battle

Alex Jones made a rare public appearance with her husband Charlie Thomson at the 2025 Royal Academy of Arts Summer Preview Party at Burlington House in London on Wednesday. The presenter, 48, who opened up about Charlie's devastating health battle last year, walked hand-in-hand with her man as they left the swanky venue. For the occasion, Alex turned heads in a blue strapless gown adorned with dark blue floral detailing and a chiffon skirt. She teamed the stunning look with gold heels and toted her belongings in a black mini Chanel bag. Meanwhile insurance broker Charlie cut a smart figure in a beige blazer layered over a crisp white shirt and blue jeans. Earlier in the evening, Alex made sure all eyes were on her as she posed up a storm for the cameras. The renowned Summer Exhibition is a glamorous evening of Champagne and canapés in the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Academy. The purpose of the exhibition, which was set up in 1768, is to raise funds to support the Royal Academy Schools, Britain's first art school. Individual tickets cost £525 and earns you entry to the party, a programme, bubbly and nibbles and 2025 Exhibition List of Works & Price Guide. A VIP ticket, costing £850, comes with a special listing in the preview programme, early access to view artworks and the first opportunity to buy works. These guests are also granted access to exclusive VIP Reception in the Royal Academy's Fine Rooms. The event comes after Alex candidly opened up about her husband Charlie's harrowing health ordeal. Last year, she divulged that Charlie had experienced a 'rough period' throughout 2023. The pair married in 2015, and they have three children together, Teddy, Kit and Annie. Speaking on Gabby Logan's podcast ' The MidPoint ' last year, the star admitted to seeing her husband 'fall apart' after battling Lyme Disease and viral meningitis. During her conversation Alex reported that Charlie is 'in a much better place now'. Explaining her motivation, she said: 'I think what drives me is the fact that we have got three young children, and I feel, for them, I need to do the best to preserve myself. She continued: 'Mum and dad have always been healthy, growing up we've always eaten a balanced diet, but more so, Charlie and I are focused on that. 'He also wasn't very well last year,' she mentioned, prompting Gabby to inquire: 'How is he now?' Alex replied: 'He's good, yes. He's in a way better place now to where we were a year ago but diet has played a huge part in that. We always eat relatively well but he's quite into nutrition.' She explained: 'I think it was a way for him as well to fill his days in a sense when he wasn't feeling well. And he decided to take on this kind of role, right, well, we've got the medication, but I'm going to see what else I can do to help myself. 'He used to be a chef so cooking and food is very much something he loves and it brings him a lot of joy. 'I'm very lucky he cooks most meals, but I do say it's the glory job because nobody says, 'you stacked that dishwasher so well,' so he does all the cooking but we eat really well. 'Lots of pulses, lots of greens, lots of vegetables, and this thing that was news to me that five to 10 a day isn't enough, it's the variety, eat the rainbow, I say it on a loop to my children.' While Alex did not specify her husband's mental health struggles, she did touch upon them on the How To Fail Podcast, revealing that her husband had 'gone downhill fast mentally'. 'It's my husband's own story to tell, so I won't go into detail, but he suffers with his mental health and we've just been through a really bad period where, bless him, he had Lyme Disease and then he had viral meningitis.

Jerry Hall, 68, exudes effortless elegance in silk magenta shirt and velvet trousers as she poses with her daughter-in-law Anouk Winzenried at Summer Exhibition party in London

displayed her ageless sense of style on Wednesday, as she joined her daughter-in-law Anouk Winzenried at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition preview party, held at London's Burlington House. The former supermodel, 68, looked as glamorous as ever in a chic magenta-coloured silk shirt, giving it a sultry edge by unbuttoning it daringly low. She teamed it with a pair of dark velvet trousers with gold button detailing, black ballet flats and a coordinating alligator print handbag. Beaming behind a pair of blue-tinted shades, Jerry wrapped an arm around Anouk, who is married to her youngest son with ex-husband Mick Jagger, Gabriel. Anouk also showed off her chic fashion sense, looking sophisticated in a cream pinstripe waistcoat and matching trousers and adding suede stilettos to bring her up to Jerry's impressive 6ft frame. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The Swiss socialite tied the knot with Gabriel, 27, in July 2021, after the Covid pandemic forced the pair to postpone their wedding twice. The ceremony took place at Jerry's then-husband Rupert Murdoch's £11 million Oxfordshire mansion Holmwood House. Jerry filed for divorce from the media business magnate, 94, in July the following year, citing irreconcilable differences. Along with Gabriel, she and Rolling Stones star Mick, 81, also share children Elizabeth, 40, James, 39, and Georgia May, 33. All four children have followed their famous parents into the entertainment industry; Georgia May and Lizzy are models, while James and Gabriel work in the film industry as an actor and producers. It comes after Jerry proved her friendship is still going strong with another of Mick's ex-wives, Bianca Jagger, as they posed together at a Chelsea Flower Show event last month. They were once again joined by Anouk, with all three women dressing on theme in different floral outfits. Bianca, 80, was married to the rocker from 1971 to 1978, with the pair welcoming daughter, Jade, 53, together. During their marriage, Mick began dating Jerry, and she reportedly inspired the Rolling Stones' classic song Miss You. After divorcing Bianca in 1978, Mick and Jerry then tied the knot 12 years later in 1990, with the couple going on to have their four children. However history soon repeated itself, and allegations of numerous infidelities helped drive the couple apart for good, with the pair splitting in 1999. Mick is now engaged to former ballerina Melanie Hamrick, 37, with whom he shares youngest child, eight-year-old son Deveraux.
