Oasis guitar signed by Noel and Liam going on show in Manchester

Guitars donated by other musicians will also go on display in shop windows around the city, and other venues, in July and August. Guitar-themed artworks, exhibitions and other installations will appear throughout the city's streets and squares, along with pop-up shops, impromptu performances, music-themed markets and a festival bar. Officers have released CCTV images of two people following an incident in south Manchester. Police believe the two people pictured today (May 12) could have key information for their investigation. It follows a reported theft on Mauldeth Road, in Burnage, last month. Detectives are keen to speak to the two people who are pictured. Anyone who recognises them, or has information on the incident, is asked to come forward as soon as possible. A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers in Burnage want to identify two people after items were stolen from a car on Mauldeth Road between 8pm on April 21, 2025, and 9am on April 22, 2025. A woman's body has been found near the ground of a former cricket club. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the body was discovered near the former Burnage Cricket Club on Brookthorpe Avenue, Burnage, at around 3pm on Monday, 5 May. "Officers are working to identify the woman and a Home Office post-mortem has been authorised," the force said in a statement. A GMP spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the death is considered suspicious. Pictures on social media showed a police cordon in place and a blue tent erected at the scene.
